Small Projects Painting or Staining
One half star because that was the lowest possible. This was my first experience in hiring others to do my work and I assumed the best. Boy was I fooled! Al was totally unprofessional right from the start. He glanced over the job site for a few minutes and gave me a price. Our first contract was scribbled on a scrap of paper. I wasn't impressed but decided to go along. He never showed up when he said he would and always had an excuse. The job dragged on for weeks. He uses a helper for much of his work and this guy is a terrible and unknowledgeable painter. Al asked for an advance before the job was completed and I stupidly gave it to him. He never showed up again and wouldn't answer my calls or texts. I'm out $500 and had a good life lesson. Never hire Al's Custom Painting.

"From the beginning Ron was friendly and the entire time seemed to be most satisfied. If he had any complaints whatsoever, all he had to do was voice them. He never did. I haven't earned the reviews and the business I have by treating people as he suggests I did him. I did have someone helping me on that job, that much is true. And I did ask for a draw, not an advance. An advance is a money you have not worked for yet. A draw is getting paid for a portion of the job which you've already completed. There is a huge difference. I never ask for advances. And taking money and never showing up again? I would not be able to sleep at night if I ever did that to anyone. My business is built on integrity and honesty, among other things. One of the compliments that I receive most often is that I do, in fact, show up when I say I am going to be there. And if I cannot make it for any reason, I will always give a courtesy call as soon as I know. The real truth of the matter is that I went above and beyond what I said I'd do for him. I gave him an excellent price, to begin with, and then he just kept adding on to it, much of which I just threw in and did not charge for. I was shocked when I read his review. I thought we had gotten along well. He never once voiced any of this to me, mostly because it didn't happen the way he is described it."

I actually contracted Al Combs for several areas I needed painted, that included my kitchen, laundry room, ceilings, doors and trim. His work was good, he met his deadline and kept the work area clean. I will definitely hire Mr. Al for future projects.

I needed my gutters cleaned, and was scheduled to have a morning appointment. Al and his employee noticed that it was supposed to rain in the morning so the employee came out the night before and got them done. I really appreciate it!

Walls were streaked looking after two coats could not even it out. He was willing to correct the problem and worked an extra day working on it without changing the estimate. He is very personable

Project: Commercial strip center exterior and interior painting Allen did outstanding exterior and interior painting at my 8500 SF commercial strip center in front of the Walmart in Washington Court House, OH. Allen completed the work on time and on budget and was terrific to work with during the process. I will definitely work with Allen again on my future commercial and residential projects. I highly recommend that you do too.
