The best people ever. We placed the pond project on hold and they built a trex/redwood deck and installed drip lines & automatic watering. AWESOME workmanship. Suggested clever details improving safety: contrasting outline boards on trim and stairs for visual cueing, subtle lights at edge of deck & stairs for safe nighttime wandering, handrails on steps. Thoughtful & informed engineering throughout. On time/ on budget / polite attitude / wonderful customer service / masterful, precise workmanship / tidy cleanup. I can recommend these people to build anything - their quality is that good.

Professional and personable

Brandon and his team were very professional and knowledgeable. Brandon listened to my wants and filled all my needs. He made suggestions for improvements that showed he really knew his stuff. I plan on using them again in the near future for another project. Good people too.

Brandon listened to my interests and concerns and provided multiple approaches/ideas for restoring my neglected water feature. I m very happy with the outcome and will use him for future landscaping projects.

Brandon did a great job installing my front and back yard for our home (Tubbs fire rebuild). He responded quickly and got started on my install within a week. He was clear up front to the cost of the project and worked within my budget. He also added lights with the initial cost coming in below my budget, a nice added bonus.. His ideas helped make my yard affordable and artistic. I have received many compliments on my yard. Brandon , Eric, and the 2 Jose'e were always pleasant and professional, hard working and responsible.

Hired them to do small lawn in backyard. Brandon customer service is not good, lawn is lumpy. It appears to be irrigation issue. He was non-responsive.

I hired Alternative Landscaping to do an entire landscape project for our newly constructed home. It included the following: Koi pond Gazebo erection Driveway pavers Patio stonework Grading and below grade drainage Irrigation Electrical and plumbing Fencing Retaining walls Dry/wet creek bed as part of drainage system Concrete work They turned dirt into wonderful finished complete landscape project that gets rave reviews from all who see it

Quality of work was excellent, however, they buried our irrigation line and we had to trench a new one under the concrete and were non-responsive when we asked them to correct it.

Friendly work group. Very responsive and creative. We purchased our home with a funky front yard and Brandon thought up a design so that our house is no longer an eye sore. Have already recommended to others!

Failed to manage their crew during the job

We hired Brandon Rodriquez/Alternative Landscapes to redo the landscaping in our backyard, including installation of 3 paver patios, a flagstone pathway, new sod, redoing existing irrigation and construction of a pergola. Brandon had good design ideas and was very enthusiastic. Unfortunately, he and his crew (different people daily) did incredibly substandard work. The paver patios began sinking and the paver stones separating within days of his completion of the job. Water pooled up in several locations as drains were set higher than the stones. We were forced to hire another company to remove all the paver stones and reset them. When this was done it was discovered that base rock was not used in several areas. We also hired another irrigation landscaper to fix several leaks and redo the irrigation system which was not working properly. The sod and topsoil were not installed correctly and the lawn is uneven with raised seams between the strips of sod. A 10-day estimate job turned into 20 days. Brandon was unable to adequately supervise his crew as he was doing another job simultaneously. Ultimately it will cost as much if not more to correct everything done improperly.

Alternative Landscapes' owner, Brandon Rodriguez, is friendly, responsive, knowledgeable and excellent in his profession. He loves the work his firm does and revels in doing a job well and to the satisfaction of his customers. Brandon and his crew are easy to work with. Alternative Landscapes left the yard clean and neat after the work was done.

Awesome stonework as well as th sod.

Brandon is very knowledgeable and has great ideas, he puts effort in helping create and finish projects with genuine interest and concern and creates projects exactly as I envision or better.

The owner Brandon was available & personable. The workers were personable & hard working. Doesn't get any better than that!!
