I gave two stars because they came out the same day I called. I have been a long time customer of Ambient. I remained a customer even when they replaced my second floor unit and damaged my home in doing so. One person rammed the outside unit into a support beam that holds up an overhang at my driveway and someone else put their feet through my ceiling while they were in the attic. However my recent experience has made it my last experience with Ambient. My thermostat started acting funny Thursday evening and Friday morning it just stopped working. I called right after they opened and they were able to send someone out that afternoon. I was grateful because we were going into a weekend and I needed my AC working. When Eddie arrived, he confirmed that it was my thermostat (although he did say he couldn't be absolutely sure until we changed the thermostat). He checked his tablet for the price and said it would be $495. He made a call to confirm the price and was told it was actually $504. We discussed the possibility of me buying a thermostat myself at Home Depot. He called his boss, Brian (the owner), and asked if he could install a thermostat if I bought it and Brian said no. Something to do with not guaranteeing the part if it didn't come from him. I would have had no problem with that. $500 is a lot these days, especially when you can buy the exact same thermostat at Home Depot for around $100. I was in a bind because I needed the AC working and with it being a Friday afternoon, I didn't know if another company could or would come out that late in the day or on Saturday. I couldn't go through the weekend without AC in my home. So I had no choice but to have Ambient replace the thermostat. But that will be the last time I ever use them again. They have lost a long time customer. I don't think they care, but others should know how they gouge their customers.

My a/c went on the fritz & I checked with Homeadvisor who referred me to Ambient & they called within minutes of my post & thankfully they came out the same day. The tech came diagnosed the problem & fixed it quickly. The tech was very knowledgeable, nice & explained what was wrong, how he fixed it & advises me on maintenance of furnace & unit. Ambient exceeded my expectations-my a/c was fixed in a timely manner and i m going to continue to use them for regular maintenance of unit. Great team, very pleased!

A little pricey up front, but they stood by their work. When the problem returned, they were back immediately and fixed the problem without additional charges. I would definitely use again.

Heater stopped during the Polar vortex, on a Sat, 1 call , the tech was on time, took time to explained the problem, fixed the problem in a reasonable amount of time. This is now my go to heat and A/C company. Thank You Shawn and Ambient Cooling and Heating

Competitive bid, and arrived on time. Qualified, professional technicians. Per my request, installed a new oil fired hot water heater as a heat pump helper to replace a 20 year old system. Part way into the job, additional problems were discovered with the existing exhaust system. Bryan was able to diagnose the issues, offer affordable solutions, and complete the installation within a short time frame.

Just a bit pricey.

They saved me hundreds of dollars, I called Blue dot I was told within 20 minutes or so that they cant fix and needed new furnace, they didn't even try I was pissed !!!! Ambient came the next day fixed the problem They were honest and understood the problem they took the time to explore the need as for blue dot they didn't even explore what options !!!!!!

I called Ambient cooling and heating after another company gave me a very high price to change out my faulty gas valve. A tech came out just a couple of hours after my initial call, he was very pleasant to deal with and explained to me the issue and solution. I was happy to hear that they were quoting me less than half the other company’s asking price. Since my system is 17 years old, I have decided to switch out the entire system and was very happy with the price quoted. Brian explained to me that the schedule is very booked but since I didn’t currently have heat he would have someone come out the next day to fix the issue in the meantime at no additional cost. The tech just left my house, the heat is fixed, and I am very happy that I decided to go with this company. Hopeful that everything will continue to go well when they change out my heating and AC systems.

It was really hot in that house last night. Took me quite some time to fall asleep. Woke up this morning, cool, surprisingly. Until i went upstairs to get ready. Needed another shower when i was finally dressed. And then I stepped outside this morning to go to the car and it was like air conditioning. Too bad we live in a world where we can't sleep outside on our porches. Lol hope you had a good night. Looking forward to eating my greens for lunch.
