From the very beginning, I found AB and S to be extremely responsive and helpful. My situation was a repair that they could handle for me, but not one they typically take on. We had an issue in our attic with a rafter not properly attached to ridge beam. Jim advised me on how to find someone to repair it, but offered to have Mark come out if I could not find someone. Eventually, I had to call back to ask for help. Dawn was extremely helpful as was Jim. We made arrangements for Mark to come out and make the repair. If you want to get a sense of who these folks are and how responsible and helpful they are, watch the video on their web site. Mark is a knowledgable, personable guy who gets things done. Very relatable and the kind of guy you would like to grab a beer with. He made the repair, chatted for a bit, and then was on his way. This is a trustworthy, efficient and very likable group of people that seem to be totally focused on solving your issue. Can't recommend them highly enough!

They were great. Have to say thanks to both Jim and Mike. I talked to Jim and set up everything, he was great. Have to give it to both Mike and his apprentice, they were incredible. I had two lally columns to replace. They inspected them and were able to asses that they could use the original footing. Meaning that they didn’t have to break up the surrounding concrete, put new footings, base, etc. Also was affordable with a more knowledgeable set of people. Mike also looked at the basement ceiling because the above floor was dipping and rocking when walked on. He opened the ceiling, inspected it and told me there was nothing wrong with the floor joists and everything else. (Part of the problem was fixed when they replaced the lally columns.) He told me it was how they installed the the plywood or whatever they used under the tile on the floor. He could have given me some long confusing explanation of how the ceiling was was wrong or cracking and that I would have to replace it right away and they could do it. He didn’t. He was extremely honest and told me the truth. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone with foundation problems. With 30 years of experience, honesty and integrity backing this company, there is no one else I would go with or trust. My wife Elia and I thank you.

Excellent experience. Very professional and cleaned up after work was completed. They installed 2 support beams under a main beam after adding a concrete base for each support. I would use this high quality company again.

i was extremely pleased with Mark, Jim,Mike, and Darryl. they came and did a no holds barred job in an exceptionally fast time frame. something i thought would take at least a week, they did in 2 days.a couple of unexpected issues came up, and they rectified the problems right off the bat..recommend them? without a doubt, good job guys

Jim and Mark were a very professional team. Mark came out and surveyed our issues. Mark came back as a 3-man crew and miraculously and beautifully completed a project in one day that other companies, coming through Home Advisor, had quoted us as requiring a minimum of a week to complete. We are extremely pleased with the work that they did and highly recommend American Beam and Steel.

Working with Jim and Mark was a very pleasurable experience. I was at wit's end trying to find a company willing to address my floor joist problem caused by termites. After viewing my floor joists, Mark relieved a lot of my anxiety with his repair solution of providing support to the joists rather than removing and replacing them. He confirmed my observations that the joists were not badly damaged even though another contractor claimed that they were and had recommended removal and replacement. I can't be more satisfied with the work that took place.

The only reason for the customer service rating was because the estimate was not delivered as timely as it could have been. The work was well done and on time.

I needed some steel beams to replace the jacks I had in my basement. These guys were the GREATEST!!! Not only did they have plenty of patience with me since I'm a first time homebuyer but they also shared so much knowledge on the way my old house was constructed. they worked with me throughout the process and on my very short time frame (only 4 days from estimate to completion). They provided me with a letter to show the village so that I wouldn't have any issues later down the line. If I could rate them 100☆ I would. They are extremely professional, tidy, and have amazing customer service; definitely better than any other contractor I've dealt with!

My Mother in Laws home's Structural Beam was ravaged by Termites. I had several companies come by and offer various solutions at inflated prices, and sometimes along with methods that caused me great concern. Mark, from American Beam and Steel was selected after he PERSONALLY came by, totally evaluated my problem, COMPLETELY explained how he would replace my Beam with a new steel Beam, at a very good price. I offered to remove a glass block window for him to deliver Beams to area (as ALL other Contractors had requested) and Mark said that was unnecessary! He provided a very comprehensive Contract, including a very specific time line. He completed work AS CONTRACTED, without delay, & cleaned up the area after completion. I am 65 years old and have had MANY experiences with home repair contractors in the past, some good, many not so good. BUT THIS WAS BY FAR THE BEST experience I have had with a contractor and would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone needing BEAM/Structural & Carpentry services. And this company REALLY has an affinity for SAVING OLDER STRUCTURES as indicated on their website!

My project required a major reconstruction of 2 stories of an exterior wall. American Beam & Steel had the expertise to organize and complete the work to its original condition professionally and without incident. They also achieved my wish to salvage the existing hard to match siding and reinstall it to retain the original appearance of the exterior. This was handled beyond my expectations. I would strongly recommend using American Beam & Steel for any and all similar major reconstruction projects, as I will if the need should arise in the future.

We hire Mark to do some repairs to our Three Season Room. When they started the project they immediately found additional water & insect damage. Mark came out and delivered an estimate on some structural work that needed to be performed on my house. He was courteous and thorough in examining the issue and providing an estimate. The estimate was more comprehensive any of the other two bids, and I liked Mark's level of competency when he explained what would be required, so I chose him to do the work. I'm very glad that I did, because he and his team were excellent. They did the work in a reasonable amount of time, thoroughly and professionally, and cleaned up after it was done. Mark took me down into the crawlspace to show me the work they'd done, and went the extra mile in explaining the condition of the foundation to me. It's rare to find anyone who is a combination of competent, personable, and professional and Mark and his team were just that, so I would very highly recommend him for any kind of structural work.

I highly recommend American Beam & Steel for project (outside stairs and beam work). This company is professional and do excellent work.

They did a great job with everything and the installation went very smoothly. One day for excavation and pour, and one day for the actual beam installation. I would highly recommend them for anyone that needs structural work with steel beam installation.

Mark and Mark are great! They did the job in a timely manner and did not fail on communication. My only hiccup is the debris removal. They did not remove drywall that they cut and they used one of my storage bins as a garbage bin and did not replace. I think this is a great company and I would definitely recommend but they need to get better with debris removal or at least let the homeowner know that it's there.
