I hired them, gave them half the deposit and they did not return any of my calls or the calls from the city to get the permit. DO NOT HIRE THEM.

These people accepted a substantial deposit of over $2000 to install a fence. They haven't installed the fence and have failed to return communication asking why. I've called over a dozen times, half dozen emails and a half dozen texts. No response, no explanation, no work. Do not do business with these people!

Paid money down, no work done. would like the money back.

Proceed cautiously if you decide to contact this company. I naively chose this contractor and someone was quick to come out to give me an estimate for the project. We decided to chose them and paid the 50% of the estimate as is required and now after weeks of trying to get a schedule date - no one will call me back. I would like my fence installed or my deposit refunded. People should really be aware of the poor business practices of American Outdoor Service. I will have to continue to pursue this further. Be careful.

I love my privacy fence. The customer service was great. They cleaned the area and the project was completed ahead of schedule. I will recommend them to friends and family.

Put down deposit but haven't heard from them. Communication has been very difficult. We have tried to be accommodating with them.

The fence is finally completed. The lack of customer service and follow up is the reason why I am giving this company a three star rating. The material used for the fence is great however, it took me multiple tries of calling and texting and even then no one could give me an answer. The only thing that I would recommend is the material used not the company that installed it.

Absolutely the worst company to do business with! I signed and returned the proposal March 28th. After 2 weeks of not being able to get anyone to answer an email or return a phone call, I received an email saying my project was scheduled for the 1st week of May. Over the next few weeks I left 11 phone messages and sent 7 emails trying to get updates and schedules, none of which were answered or returned by either the salesman or the office. I finally had to drive to New Lenox to their shop, where I met Rick. After about 3 more weeks delay Rick was able to get my fence and gates completed June 6th. Complete nightmare to get this company to do what they agree to do.

The representative came on time for the appointment and made some recommendations that turned out to be great for our particular situation. Plus I needed extra fast service and they came through with flying colors. I was very happy with the installers. They did a great job and went the extra mile to finish on time even though it started raining.

That they were 4th generation professionals very courteous and neat and kept the promise I would recommend them to anyone and I will to anyone looking to get a fence steel or wood.

They were efficient; reasonable; courteous; highly recommend them.

Great service! Took their time to make sure it was the way I wanted. Always kept me in form about what was happening that day. As we talked I found out they do landscaping, so I’m def go use them to do mine.

I HAD A 66FT FENCE PUT IN WHICH IS A ONE ROW (8 PANELS) IN MY BACK YARD. IT TOOK 5 DAYS TO PUT IN. I HAD CALLED AND I WOULD GET MAILBOX IS FULL,I TEXTED NO REPLY,I EMAILED NO REPLY. I WAS TOLD HIS CREW WOULD COME OUT IN THE MORNING, THEY NEVER SHOWED UP NO COMMUNICATION AT ALL. SO IF YOUR NOT IN HURRY AND DON'T CARE WHEN THEY GET IT DONE. THEN THIS IS THE COMPANY FOR YOU. I WILL NEVER RECOMMEND HOMEADVISOR OR AMERICAN IRON WORKS TO ANY ONE I KNOW.

There was a problem getting a bracket for this privacy panel/trellis. I am delighted with the finished product. The only complaint is that he did not keep me informed on the delay. Once the bracket was received, the panel was installed. It looks great and I would definately recommend them.Very reasonable and quality work.
