American Paving by Design

TLDR: Since having our driveway done, we have had American Paving do both my sister's and parent's drives. That should tell you a lot about the work they do. Details: We were tired of looking at the cracks and holes in our old driveway. Frankly, it made the outside of the house feel kinda dumpy. After reading the reviews, and seeing how frequently people praise them by name, I called for a quote. Matthew came out that day, measured everything, explained his plan, and quoted a fair price. Our driveway is long, so it was never going to be "cheap", but my wife said it best, “I don’t feel bad about what we spent.” On install day, Matt and James were on site making sure everything was done correctly. The crew worked quickly, but it never felt rushed. Worth noting... I asked them to be careful near a deck I installed myself, and they immediately had someone ready with a broom to keep it clean. Now we have a clean, even, well-edged driveway we actually enjoy looking at. Cheers

American Paving by Design Is a Class 1 company they?re very professional to work with. They coordinated with our needs on the project. The parking lot looks Perfect and Exactly as they planned it to be.

Today, Matt the owner of American Paving by Design in Grand Rapids, showed up with a crew to rectify their driveway issues of their install on July 29th 2025. They worked hard to alleviate the situation by removing a section of the moguly drive and installing new asphalt there and “capping” another section also. He was gentlemanly and forthright in our discussions. The new asphalt looks great at this point. However, a good rain would really show a confirming factor of all their efforts. And he did his best to fix the situation, and to satisfy me as a customer. ***posting for my neighbor Larry. Owner/Matt arose to the problem once he was made aware and immediately without hesitation reached out directly to Larry to offer a solution. Thank you for doing this and showing others how to address all matters within a business. Larry is grateful and thankful for your efforts Matt.

American Paving By Design was great — they arrived right on time, were very professional and reliable, and responded quickly to all my questions. The workmanship on our driveway was top‑notch and the area was left clean. I’m pleased with the quality of their asphalt resealing and will definitely call them again for any future work. They did the original paving last year.

Jim from American Paving By Design met with me regarding my asphalt driveway. My driveway was crumbling and in spots was down to the dirt. Jim took a lot of time to explain what needed to be done to replace the driveway. He answered all of my questions and concerns. The next day the crew arrived on time, started working, and by the end of the day I had a new beautiful driveway. I've just got to say that American Paving By Design is absolutely fabulous!!! I highly recommend them!!!
