Asphalt Shingle Roofing Repair
The management of this company is absurd. I was scheduled three times for a repair at a cost of $675. When they didn't show in the originally scheduled day, I called at 4PM to see what was going on and was told they were not going to make it and AWR reschedule for Tuesday. At 6:38 AM I texted the owner to confirm the crew were be there to do the work. At 2:40 PM I received a text back that everyone was sick and I was guaranteed I would be the first job on Saturday. Saturday at 7:30AM I received a text that I would not be the first job of the day. There was a full roof replacement. I followed up at 12:30 and was told the crew still wasn't available. At 2:30, 1 person showed up with a caulk gun, went up on the roof for 5 minutes, came and an announced he fixed the problem. Let's keep in mind that I am being billed $675 for this work to be done. I was told the flashing around my chimney needed to be replaced, mortar needed to be replaced shingled relayed, etc. I called the owner, again, to express my complete dissatisfaction with the situation he accused me of being a racist because the person who caulked my roof was Latino. This company is completely disorganized and doesn't take the obligation to the customer seriously at all. Please do not use this company.

"Unfortunately this is a completely bogus and malicious claim. We have proof that we refunded her down payment in full and declined to the job at all. This person seemed very difficult to appease and out of the hundreds of other customers we've had, this is the first time we've ever given a refund and walked away before we even started. We've never asked our customers for reviews and the good ones far outweigh the bad. There are bad contractors out there, but sometimes, it's not the contractor that is the problem. Stay away from this owner because our project has been postponed for for 3 months and not even 1 room has been finished being painted.

"The property owner left for vacation and we had to start another job to keep everyone busy. Extra work was added. After a long conversation, we did our best to explain that she was in breach of contract. When we advised what the work that was done entailed, it was obvious she had no concept of value or what it took to complete those projects that she added. We are completing further work past what they would have still owed beyond their down payment at no extra charge which would equate to thousands in addition to work already completed. We're regretful that we couldn't have made them happier."

One of the things I believe to be important is to get what I call a clean quote. That means you quote for the work that’s going to be done, not a history of the company to justify a higher price. American Way gave a clean quote. Most important is to be on time to start the job, and complete the job in an organized manner. American replaced drywall and added some studs to an area above a hallway. The job was done clean and professional

Original work was shoddy. Owner begged for the opportunity to adjust and then made matters worse. He came up with excuses on why he couldn't finish something that would probably take less than 15 minutes. Also whined about the review that I posted on Facebook. How about focus on better craftsmanship, not arguing with a customer about an honest review. This was the facebook review: "Typical, say anything to get your business. Worker did a shoddy job. Owner was in his feelings about a mediocre review, wanted to make it up (practically begged for review to be taken down). I gave him the opportunity to make some adjustments. He attempted, made matters worse, didn't hear back from him when he was supposed to do some minor finishing on his 'adjustments' a couple days later. Contacted him 3 weeks later, got excuses, but ok life happens. Contacted him 3 weeks after that more excuses. He then leaves me a voicemail asking if I still had primer so that he could use it to "patch up" miscolored caulk that he applied to cover up the original shoddy job.....ummm why didn't you ask for it and apply it when you there? He should have left well enough alone and accepted the 3-star rating(which was generous) for the "worker" that probably .... never mind. I don't know if the owner is a con artist or just became overwhelmed. He should not try to accept all jobs that come his way. My job was minor compared to projects that he posts about, so I don't understand why it turned out so crappy.... In my opinion, he could have contracted the local drug addict to do my project while using professionals on other jobs."

"The work was completed to code and was well done, we tried to work with the home owner to make adjustments, but it unfortunately proved difficult to appease. We build decks often and with over 50 jobs completed in the past few months, complaints have been completely devoid minus one where a bit of dust was leftover and we came back to take care of it. We always strive to make our customers happy, but in certain cases it seems a near impossible task."

My only knock would be that James doesn't always see what a woman would see, he fixed our screens but didn't get them back until the end of the project, it bothered my wife but not me. Everything else was wonderful, would recommend.
