Same glass and screen as Renewal by Anderson, MUCH better pricing! Good work and installation..
Original meeting to review scope of work and obtain bid was positive. Salesman was pleasant and accommodating. As we already had the new doors, and we were only looking for labor to install/finish, he called his supervisor while mtg w/us to confirm they could provide service without purchasing their products. His supervisor agreed, after receiving pics and full explanation on scope of work. We hired AWD during that mtg, after being told that their subs for construction & stucco finisher were highly skilled, paying 50% dp. Another reason we selected AWD is because he said they could schedule to start in 3 weeks. We advised if we were happy with result of work, we would have additional windows to replace (thus creating additional revenue for them). We had to chase for the formal contract doc several times over 2 weeks, which was to have been sent the day after our verbal; but our check cleared in only a few days. When still no docs or pre-appt confirm by day prior to anticipated start, we called again and asked for contract. We received via em and confirmed next day. Contractor arrived few days later, with no prior notice; he apologized and advised we should have received a call from AWD. We have NO issue with the contractor who permed the work thus far; they were VERY professional, skilled and created little disruption or mess. Our issue is w/American Windows & Doors (AWD) whose salesman did not properly communicate scope of job and contractor was not prepared with correct tools, so we had to supply tools (fortunately we had the tools needed). Also, AWD did not account for unforeseens, and the contractor found it necessary to replace a door header, adding additional time and effort. They were here for 6.5 hrs. Upon the his reporting progress update to AWD, AWD left angry msgs/em with us that "we need to look at service agmt because of *out of scope items*, and that he is not completing job until we speak". We responded via email asking him to call, and after 2 days, still no response. We have an UNFINISHED job, and EXPOSED EXTERIOR surfaces, and we must now find another contractor to complete door replacement, and another to do stucco finishing. I would NOT recommend American Windows & Doors, and wonder how they made it thru Angi's List verification process. NOT a reputable company in our experience.
The installers were very competent.
Overall a great company, not sure about pricing never had this work done before. Seems OK however. I liked them and they are doing the job, I would recommend them.
Upon arrival for an estimate, had an easy fix and took care of it.
Fabulous people and have hired their crew for future work as well.
I had such a great experience working with American Doors and windows, wonâ t trust anyone else with my home. I had my old drafty windows replaced. The process was so easy and fast, I was shocked to learn I didnâ t have to wait for months like with other companies. I even saved money going with them!!! Next step is new doors. If you need replacements donâ t look anywhere else
Great company and very quick to respond to our patio door replacement job.
