Reviews
Write a ReviewMy wife and I hired American Woodwrights to build a 400 square foot sunroom and to complete a partial remodel of a downstairs bathroom. Working only from a few photographs representing the style that we desired, David Laprey and his brother Ken, drew up their own plans and presented us with those plans and a detailed contract. We were particularly happy to hear that they only accepted one job at a time so they could devote their full attention to the project. Working collaboratively, they constructed a stunning sunroom with floor to ceiling windows, French door entrance from the dining room, a complex coffered ceiling, tiled terra cotta and hand painted deco floor, and built an entire focal wall of custom cabinetry housing a large screen TV, AV electronics and a four-foot gas fireplace topped with a beautiful piece of leather finished black granite. In the bathroom, they transformed a washer/dryer closet into a spacious tiled shower with corner bench and glass block wall surrounded by a marble entrance. They removed a small fiberglass shower and constructed a space for a stackable washer and dryer. I found David and Ken to be honest, hard-working, multi-talented and dependable, demonstrating a genuine pride in their quality work. They were very easy to work with as they were in constant communication every step of the way and responsive to any questions in a timely manner. They were excellent at problem solving, always contemplating the best way to approach each aspect of the project. They were always polite, respectful of our house, being careful not to damage anything in the construction process. At the end of the job, they cleaned up and made several extra visits to ensure that we were completely satisfied with their work. We would not hesitate to recommend American Woodwrights to others looking for quality work.
design/build this beautiful extension for my customers needs. This included a beautiful custom bathroom as well an a large custom addition with all the interior perks: custom built in entertainment center, custom terracotta floor tiles and offered ceilings as well as custom french doors.
Crown molding was installed in 3 bedrooms. The work was done in a professional and timely manner. It looks great! One worker even went above and beyond and fixed a small problem with my laminate flooring. When I asked his opinion on a repair ( not in the original scope of work) he not only had a solution but he fixed the floor repair without an extra cost!
Part of my house is very old and I have 6 large windows that are over 200 years old. They needed to be re-glazed among a variety of restoration needs. He saved as much of the original glass as he could and the windows are in much better shape now. I was very satisfied with his work, he's a good craftsman, and you can tell he takes pride in his work. I was very glad to find someone that understood the original craftsmanship enough to actually restore it; rather than just fall back on new windows like most contractors out there.
