Very professional

Hired them to trouble shoot a gas furnace in my rental house. Was told that the gas valve and igniter needed to be replaced. Quoted me $491.00 to do the job stating the gas valve was 400.00. I paid him in advance for the job then found the gas valve for $125.00 on line. Talked to Bruce regarding the cost and he stated he would order the less expensive valve and make good on the money. Since then, he will not return phone calls to find out if, in fact, he actually performed the work and at a lower cost. I feel he ripped me off on the estimate and may not have actually performed the work. Would not hire them again.

Do not hire. He put in the system for me and it ruined my whole yard to the point where I had to hire someone else to fix it. One of his crewman Deet Grimes is trying to help by working with me but as far as I know this company is breaking up and they didn't even get a permit for my job.

Hired Bruce and American Alternative to replace furnace and Air conditioner with new, high efficiency units. Agreed on $3900 plus cost of Nest thermostat. Was promised 10% veteran's discount. Workers arrived 1.5 hrs late, took double the time estimated, installed lowest efficiency units allowed by law and did not complete the work. Spoke to Bruce the next day and he said he could come out the next day (Saturday 10/14). Called 3 times and never received answer. Left voice mail each time, as well as the next 8 times I called over the next 8 days. Work is still not completed, mistakes need fixed, need explanation of why I received inferior products, was charged $80 over retail for thermostat and did not recieve 10% discount. Paid $4150 via PayPal.

He was very knowledgeable and professional while being friendly with us. I like his work and I like the person. I would recommend him to all my friends. He's also very reasonable on his prices. That helps immensely.

My project is ongoing. They have understood my schedule and are working with me.

We had a crack in the bottom of our fiberglass tub. He replaced the tub and surround with a brand new set at a reasonable price in one day. He is very honest and reliable and does what he says he will do and when. He is very customer oriented and very personable.

We had remodeled our kitchen, and purchased a gas stove to replace our electric stove. We had several quotes, and a lot of push back from local plumbers, "not sure if we can do". "too difficult" due to finished basement . Finally we connected with Home Advisor. Called Bruce on Saturday, he came on Sunday, did the job on Monday! We live in El Dorado, and frequently incur extra added expense, "trip charge" or even charges simply for estimates. Did not incur any of these with "America's Alternative". Work was professionally done, everything explained in detail. They even INSTALLED the gas stove! Bruce is a vet, employs vets, and these are a group of Americans that we welcome the opportunity to employ them. I had a few questions about using the stove (and no, I had not read the manual!) I texted Bruce, and he called me right back, and patiently answered my questions. Very pleased with all aspects of service. Very professional, knowledgeable, and honest. Keeping them on speed dial for any future projects.

He is honest. He didn't try to sell me a big project. He fixed what ended up being a simple problem.

Too expensive

he called to let us know he was running late but was on his way,. that was a plus in his favor. one of ther water lines was wrong so he went out of his way and returned it and got a correct one.

Talked with tech, told him what I wanted and how I needed it to work . He was really on top of new technology and ordered the equipment and did a great job installing them. furnace ,air conditioner , humidifier ,ultra violet light ,thermostat ,humidistat , and wiring. great job

They were professional.. they hauled off all old parts. We would hire them if the situation would arise again

I was very happy with the work, they are very professional, always on time, and cleaned up well after themselves. It was everything you would want in a professional service, and a great price for the quality. I would highly recommend them to anyone.
