America's Preferred Home Warranty

My hot water heater broke. I thought oh good I have a home warranty. Nope, I called and they would only pay out 500 for 1300 jobs. Luckily the company I called to replace it said it should be covered under the manufactures warranty. So they gave me a re-authorization number to get one from lowes. My bill for the labor and initial visit was $894.11. Also because it worked under the manufacturers warranty they refused to put any money toward it. So save your money folks. It costs 600 per year for the home warranty. Wish I could apply that to my labor costs.

This is a terrible company, my wife and I paid $460 for our 1 year home warranty for our new home so that anything broke would be covered only to have our furnace go out 5 months into it, now enter Americas & preferred Home Warranty... they fought us at every step of the way to approving our claim while telling my wife that if the claim was to be approved then the whole institution would be covered. After finally getting it approved we found out our covered amount was only $500 out of a $6000 bill and they refused to cover another dime.... could not recommend this company any less! Right, when you think it is gonna be alright they will pull the rug right out from under you and spit in your face while laughing about it! P.S. why would anyone pay $460 to have the fight of their life to maybe get $500 back

Complete waste of money! They made me jump through hoops after hoop then weeks later paid me a small percentage of what the appliances were worth. Less than a year into a two-year contract and at cancellation refused to refund any of my money. Do yourself a favor and save your money. This company is nothing but a scam!

If i could, i would put a negative 5 stars. The oven is supposed to be covered. As of inspection, it was working. Oven failed and we called contractor as instructed. Contractor stated oven failed and no replacement parts are available due to partial serial/model number and age of oven/range. America s Preferred Home Warranty will not cover replacement nor pay the contractor for diagnosis as our contract specifies. They keep saying give us an estimate for replacement parts. Per the contractor, and NO parts are available for this unit, the oven/range has to be replaced America s Preferred will not pay for anything. Total Scam

Worst company ever.. please do not fall into their scam.. they do not cover full price for replacement.. they only covered approx 10% of the new equipment cost.. the warranty cost more than the amount they cover.. avoid at all cost!!!!

Renee k helped tremendously with getting a sump pump repaired for my client. She assisted us with pin pointing what we needed to do and executing a plan. My client was super happy

Everyone that is rating this company high is employed by the company or family members. This company is false. Please do not waste your money on this home warranty company. Read the fine print. The worst home warranty company we have used in 18 years. Being military we move a lot and have used three other warranty companies without issues.

I would give them 0 stars in every category if I could. They are a scam company designed to take your money. I have called countless times over the past month with no progress being made on my claim. My policy expires in eight days and I am confident I will never see the money I am owed. I have wasted hours in trying to get my claim approved and I have been ignored in my requests for updates on the status of my claims. No one is able to give me a clear answer of why this is occurring, nor do the supervisors seem to understand how their policy works. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of service of this company and would never recommend it to anyone.

We moved in a new-to-us home and it came with some bumps. America's Preferred Home Warranty, specifically, Renee Kozak, were instrumental in getting the support and necessary coverage needed to get the job done. From the first customer service call, to the follow through with receiving the services, APHW was on it! Highly recommended!

We recently moved into a new home for which we purchased a home warranty from this company. During the first hot day of Spring, the central air conditioning unit would not turn on, so we had a contractor come out and diagnose the issue. The necessary remedy is expensive and so we filed a claim (#30160796) since this was clearly covered by the warranty agreement. As per their policy, we had the contractor call APHW to explain the problem and the proposed work for which we were quoted (over $4,000, $2,250 of which is covered by the warranty). The following day, I am contacted by APHW to inform me that they have denied my claim. When I call, the representative is unable to figure out the reason for the denial so she connects me with a supervisor. The supervisor then tells me that the claim has been denied because there is no proof that the unit was working when the warranty went into effect. As per the warranty, the agreement covers items **in place, operative, and located within the main perimeter of the main foundation of the home, including any attached garage, located at the address shown, on the effective date of this contract**. In order to prove that this unit was operational when the warranty went into effect, as per the instructions of the supervisor, I submitted a signed disclosure from the sellers (dated one month before closing) which specified that there were no problems with the unit. Then, no one contacts me for a week until I call again to inquire about the status of my claim. When I finally get through to the supervisor, I am told that the document was reviewed and the denial stands because there is not any documentation from a trained professional to attest to the working condition of the unit. I point out that there is NO SUCH REQUIREMENT in the warranty agreement, but she refuses to budge and tells me that I can submit a formal dispute which must go through arbitration, the cost of which I am responsible for. It is pretty clear that this company is in the business of denying claims rather than honoring their warranty agreement. Maybe someone from this company will see this review and ensure that the company honors its obligations here, but I doubt it. Steer clear of APHW unless you like throwing money away.

I had issues with my air conditioner. I had a home inspection done at time of purchase. Filed a claim with A.P.H.W Local technician came out found four issues wrong with the unit, none of them were covered by A.P.H.W and they would not even cover the cost of the service call, because none of the issues found were covered by the company. I am a fully certified HVAC and refrigeration technician. I could not service the unit myself per warranty guidelines. I had to pay for someone to do something I could have done myself. I would not have anybody waste their money with this company

This company does not pay legitimate claims. In fact, their claims representatives seem to go out of their way to find any reason - right or wrong - to deny the claim. In my region (central Texas) many reputable contractors refuse to deal with them, which is problematic because of APHWs requirement that they speak to the contractor prior to repairs. I had two highly rated, well established plumbers and one HVAC technician tell me that their bosses would not allow them to participate in APHWs process. Reason? Because its a scam. By the way, both my plumbing and HVAC claims were denied. I would like to tell you the exact reason they were denied, in APHWs own words, but their policy is not to provide written explanations of their denials. d love to share a screenshot of the email informing me of that, but I don t think I can attach it here. Its on my review of the same company at PisXXXX. Anyhow, this company may once have need legit. Not any longer. Following the first of my online reviews, N*** of America s Preferred Home Warranty called me. He gave different reasons for their denials and, again, nothing in writing. No offer of a partial refund for my 4 month old contract (2 year term, paid up front), no offer to reconsider, just trying to get the reviews modified or deleted. My suggestion is to look at several popular review sites like TruXXXX, PisXXXX, YXXXX, ReXXXX. You'll get a complete picture of how they do business. I am not alone.

We used APHW when we bought our house. Since then, we have filed a claim for a roof leak. We were able to research and hire our own contractor. He was great, but that has nothing to do with APHW. APHW was easy to work with. Just a couple of phone calls, email them the invoice, and they mailed me a check. I was able to pay the contractor myself and they reimbursed me (easier for my contractor). My home warranty process was mostly transparent to my contractor. He just had to talk to them on the phone once and the rest was between me and APHW.
