Not only did they refinish my very old floors and make them look great they also painted all my rooms and the house looks brand new. Everyone was terrific and the job was done to perfection. The only half star I left off was because Keith was so hard to contact but that's not a negative to the overall service.

I called and got an estimate and pretty much the next day I was getting the floors done. They worked quickly and did the job right. There was an issue with the finish and it bubbled up. (I believe it was from the humidity that day) But they worked quickly to get the job fixed! My floors look beautiful!

I hired Amherst Finishing to do hardwood floor refinishing and whole house interior painting for my Aunt's estate. I was so impressed with their work that I then hired them to remodel an out-of-date 1950's styled bathroom. I cannot express how completely satisfied I am with the work done to get the house ready for sale. They made the white oak hardwood floors look like they are brand new, and even fixed 3 areas of the hardwood that needed to be replaced--and you would NEVER be able to see where it was fixed. The bathroom remodel is beyond what I could have hoped for. Keith (owner) is a joy to work with. HIGHLY recommended!

They spent late hours sanding the floor to meet our timing to move into the house. Overall, the floor looks great and they gave us one price up front to do the job. Other contractors were doing it on time and material basis and would not commit to an overall price. They did get stain on the molding and left tape in place after finishing the job, but we were told ahead of time that we would need to repaint the molding. Given the timeframe and size of the job, they did nice finishing work.

These guys never showed up on time. EVER. When we left them alone nothing would get done until we got home then they would get of there cell fones and get back to work, and stay till 10 pm. They had to tare out Half of the floor tiles they put in Because they were put in WRONG. Tried to hide that fact from us when we sed something we had the bathroom door closed in our face and told it will look ok when they were finished. ( I don't want there mistakes fixed with grout). The cleanup was not finished palster was dumped out in my garage ( I cleaned up) My front garden was a dump spot for plaster and also dumped on the other side of my driveway

"We re-set the tiles because the client purchased 1/4" backerboard instead of 1/2" as we instructed, to try to save money, which allowed the floor to flex. We only disposed of the tile saw waste water outside so we didn't clog the client's stationary tub drain. The entire house was drop clothed and cleaned up every day, with full cleanup done by owner himself. We only worked late because client kept pushing us to get the job done faster because they did not like being inconvenienced all day long. Client was very kind to us throughout the job, then stopped payment on the check after the job was completed. We are still puzzled."

Minor damage to quarter round which we were able to repair because we had surplus material. Several places where stain and sealer were applied beyond flooring onto wall trim and fixtures. We removed it easily, but it took time. Very flexible in scheduling work and able to work around our other subcontractors. Finished in one-half the time originally estimated. The floors look great after refinishing. We like them better than when they were newly installed with the factory finish. Very well done.

I am pretty disappointed with the floors that I had done. They had to come back and do them after the first time. The second time they were done, worse than the first. It has been a couple of weeks since they were done the second time, still look like crap. I finally had to put furniture in the rooms and everything is sticking to the finish, when moved, the finish is coming up. They said to give it 30 days and if I am still not satisfied, they would redo them. I couldn't wait that long to put my furniture in the rooms. All in all, very disappointed.

"We stand by our work 100%, even if it means re-doing the job for FREE. This customer insisted on using an oil-based finish on her floors. The temp was above 90 that week and humidity above 95% (very poor drying conditions). We applied another oil-based topcoat for her which did not dry well. Finally we totally re-sanded the floor and applied a hybrid oil-based finish which dried perfectly."

I found a lot of pet stains on my wood floor when I removed my old wall to wall carpeting. I thought I would have to stain the floor dark after sanding, but they come out and I was able to keep the natural color. A high gloss finish made my floor look better than brand new!

They did a great job! I was amazed at how clean my rooms were when they were done (I expected a layer of dust on everything!) There were a few touch-ups necesary when they were done and they had no problem returning to take care of them.
