My husband was so impressed with James and his knowledge and the tool he had a hand in designing that got the nastiest clog in our pipes cleared out. We just moved to this place and it's a rental so you would hope this stuff would be taken care of, but just like home ownership you never know when something like this is going to happen so it was great that I found James and got same day service to fix the problem immediately. My husband said James was a very professional and personable person and he would recommend him 100%. Thank you, James

James was on-time, exact on his estimate and was very neat and left the area he worked in clean
Response by Anchor Sewer and Drain Cleaning: Hi Judy, thank you for giving me the opportunity to service your home's plumbing. The kitchen drain line was in better shape than I normally witness when I am using the hydro-scrub system. Keep doing what you are doing, minus using the garbage disposal for heavy fiber type vegetables and fruits. Moderation with a lot of water running, even after you have finished with the disposer.

company is willing to take the time to explain the process and answer all your question.
Response by Anchor Sewer and Drain Cleaning: Thanks Diane. I do believe, if there is some part of the linkage in the drain, the tub drain will continue to collect debris and become blocked, again. Give David or myself a call when you are ready to go forward with replacing the waste and overflow. Remember, this will require the wall behind the tub faucet be opened. Then, we will be able to determine if you have a drum trap and if we can replace it with a "p" trap.

Would not hesitate to hire again.
Response by Anchor Sewer and Drain Cleaning: Hi Doug, Thank you for submitting a review. The pipe is clear for now. Any root intrusion remaining will need to be addressed with in the next 6 months. If not, you will have another back up. For now, treat the line with Roebick Foaming Root Control. Just mix it, dry and pour it into the cleanout on the stack (where the white cleanout plug is.) . Do this at a time when the water is sure to not be used on that side of the house for at least 4 hours. Once you have introduced the powder, flush a toilet upstairs. Then, just let it sit for at least 4 hours with no water passing through the pipe. . This will eliminate growth of the roots. However, we did notice sand and gravel in the sewer line. So, eliminating the roots may create a larger path for sand and gravel to enter the pipe. What ever the case, it is worth taking the opportunity to rid the pipe of roots, because, eventually, the roots will return to block flow in the pipe. Obviously, the long term fix is to have the section of pipe replaced.

Prompt, courteous, CLEAN, personable. Not sure how the price rates due to the complexity of the problem
Response by Anchor Sewer and Drain Cleaning: Hi Paul. Thank you. Not many people take the time to give a review. The "Value for Money" rating is difficult for the consumer to see. Let's look at the problem. The kitchen drain line is almost always an issue of buildup. If we were to cut the pipe, at any spot in the basement, you would have seen a very narrow opening. Water and air must flow together for the drain line to empty. If you had called any other drain cleaning company, they would most likely have used a cable. A cable can open the drain and create more flow. However, you will still have build up on the walls of the pipe. So, many times, the drain backs up in a relatively short time after the cleaning is done. The hydro-scrub method scours the pipe along the inside diameter for the entire distance of the pipe. I also took the time to form a new seal for your trap plug. All total, speaking from having worked for Roto Rooter, you would have paid over $300 for them to use a cable. They may have even cut your pipe or insisted on going through the cleanout in the basement and possibly creating a huge mess. What you paid for was knowledge, skill, technology, the ability to keep your pipe in tact without having it cut and put back together with a rubber coupling, patience and tenacity. $185 may seem a lot to pay if you simply say, as others have, "It's just a pipe. How hard can it be?" The time to restore flow could have been shorter with a cable. However, as we discussed, the method is just not as reliable for longevity. This is one of those situations where you just have to regret choosing the alternative and be able to compare the alternative to the work we did. We have all done that. We know we have had work done by someone we knew did a great job. Then, we take the chance on hiring someone else and regret it.

James arrived less than 2 hours after my call, and quickly and effectively cleared my kitchen sink drain clog. He explained the process clearly over the phone so I knew how the job would be done, and I actually learned quite a bit during his visit. James was professional and the cost was significantly less than what I was quoted from the big chain competitor! I would highly recommend Anchor Sewer & Drain Cleaning.
Response by Anchor Sewer and Drain Cleaning: Hi Debbie, it seems the drain cleaning has worked well. By using the hydro-scrub method, you ensured a thorough cleaning of the drain line. Recurring blockages should not occur anytime soon. The hydro-scrub scours the inside diameter of the pipe along the entire length. I recently discovered a product you will want to use for maintenance. It is called, Bio-Clean. There is a distributor in Franklin. Call me for more details if you like.

Anchor sewer and drain cleaning came very promptly (the same day we called). Successfully unclogged our bathtub. Unclogging drainss is what he does, but is not licensed to do plumbing in RI., but has someone he works with who does.
Response by Anchor Sewer and Drain Cleaning: Thank you for taking the time to review Anchor Sewer and Drain Cleaning. A 4 star rating for "Quality" and overall performance is not regarded as a bad score. However, I am curious as to how the "quality" could have been any better. If I were to read this review as a consumer, not being familiar with Anchor Sewer and Drain Cleaning, I believe my impression of your review would be that you were not completely satisfied. It seems you were expecting I would be able to perform repair services. My apologies. We do not advertise plumbing. Your project was dispatched to companies, such as ours, to "Clear a Clogged or Slow Drain". I am capable of making the repairs. However, not being licensed, I choose to not get involved in making certain repairs. Once again, my apologies for any confusion. I wish I knew how we could have avoided building the expectation. This review at least allows me to realize not everyone is aware drain cleaning services are not always licensed to perform plumbing task. Take care.
