"Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concerns and want to clarify the expectations that were discussed regarding your chip seal driveway. Chip seal is a different product than traditional asphalt. It is not designed to have the same smooth finish or immediately form thick, hard edges, especially within the first few weeks after installation. Your driveway is still in its curing phase, and natural curing time is necessary for the surface to properly settle and perform as intended. We explained before and after installation that some excess loose aggregate is normal during the early stages of a chip seal application. During warmer weather, as temperatures increase and the surface oils continue to activate, additional stone adheres to the surface and helps fill natural voids within the application. This process improves the final result over time and cannot be accelerated. We also advised against sweeping the driveway prematurely because removing material too early can negatively affect a newly completed chip seal surface and interfere with the curing process. Throughout this process, we have worked to be responsive and cooperative. One of our owners personally visited the property to review your concerns in person and offered to return equipment and perform any corrective work if needed. At your request, additional machinery was not brought back out, and after reviewing the driveway together, it was confirmed that the installation appeared consistent with what was originally explained and expected at this stage of curing. As previously discussed and agreed upon, your property has been placed on our sweep list to be completed prior to winter at the appropriate time in the curing process. We value your business and remain committed to standing behind our work while following the installation standards and timing that help produce the best long-term result. If you continue to be dissatisfied with Chip Seal final results, we highly recommend a fog seal be placed over the rocks to lock them down. We would be happy to discuss this option with you."
