Brick, Stone or Block Wall Repair
I was hopeful to have settled our dispute on the work Sean was hired to perform between he and I. Sean, seemingly admitting that he had let me down, even asked that I not leave a bad review regarding his business. The issue remains unresolved as Sean owes me money for the 50% deposit I gave to him for the incomplete work. . In summary, there was a significant failure in Seans communication and his leadership as the owner of a business in the status of my project. Twice, he hired teams of people to do the work, both times resulting in their failure to complete the work. In fact, I had to go out and hire a company myself to complete the job as Sean let my unfinished project sit for weeks and weeks and weeks without him so much as coming by the house one time to see the disaster that was left behind. I still have damage to bricks and concrete that his teams created that still need attention. His teams dumped mortar residue in an empty lot beside my house that they were unauthorized to do. I have photos of all the damage and mess, text threads showing our agreement for him to complete the work and the cost and the deposit, texts showing his gaps in communication and failure to respond, receipts showing I hired another company to finish the work and I am very prepared to follow through on taking him to small claims court. Since you are no longer responding to my text messages, perhaps you will read this review. Last chance, Sean.

Ive really been putting this review off hoping that my issue would be resolved by now, but its been 2 months. Sean and his crew really are some nice guys. Had a water ponding issue on my driveway close to the garage. A decent rainfall would result in water entering under the garage door and a ponding that would take a couple of days to drain or evaporate. Plus, while the area was still damp, it was very slippery and posed a hazard. Got an estimate from Sean Anderson for $3000 to install an overlay on top of the existing concrete. Seemed to be a good solution. Work was begun and completed late May, 2019. Complete payment was made at the completion of the job. Rain occurred shortly after the job was completed. The ponding area had now increased significantly, causing even more water to enter the garage. It now takes 5 to 7 days for the water to completely evaporate. I even bought a small transfer pump to get the water off the driveway without waiting for it to dry up. I contacted Sean by email on May 25 with pictures of the driveway. He indicated that the ponding area needed to be raised some more and he would get more material to fix the problem and would return next week. After not hearing from Sean, on May 25, I sent another email to check on the schedule. With no response, I sent another email to Sean on June 3. Sean responded that he would pick up material and return to the job, weather permitting. After not hearing from Sean and with several good days of weather, I sent emails on June 10, June 19, July 3, July 15, July 24 .. all with no replies. I then called the number listed on the Home Advisor website, thinking this was Seans number, but instead got someone with Home Advisor. He indicated that he had a contact number. I called this number and got the recording, except it just indicated that he was not available and could not leave a message. So .. thats where Im at as of 7-31-2019. If he would come back and fix the problem, I would gladly acknowledge that on this website.

Sean Anderson was attentive at first, but once the project got underway, we experienced a slew of issues ranging from misquoting to a change of materials. After he completed his work, we noticed that the installation of the driveway was not correct and would need additional repairs. After attempting to reach out for three weeks, Sean called me back once when I was in a meeting, he also replied to my initial text message. Other than that, we have had no communication and have not resolved this matter. Below is a break out of this matter from me and my wife's perspective: Early Summer 2018: Sean reached out online after I posted an ad where I was looking to stop water from coming into my basement in two places: laundry room and underneath our stairs. The first estimate included the excavation of fill from my back yard to the front of the house, driveway (brick-pavers) and retaining wall in the back. The driveway was quoted at $6K, retaining wall was $3.5K. I waited on my bonus to come in before hiring Sean. August 2018: Upon Sean's return, we decided to just have the driveway built. With that, the cost jumped up to $7K plus the cost of rental equipment. Sean quoted the rental equipment at $800 and I agreed on the new estimate cost and put down a $4K payment. September 2018: When paying for the rental equipment, Sean declined to inform me that an additional $400 would be tagged on for delivery fees and taxes. I let the oversight go, and paid the fees/taxes. Sean then informed me those brick pavers could not be delivered due to the incline of our road. He said that stained concrete would be the only way to go. I inquired if there was a cost difference, and Sean said no, *apples and apples to us.* After the driveway was poured, Sean then informed me it would be an additional $1K to stain the driveway. Even though brick pavers were what our original estimate noted, and he did not mention any more additional costs when the change was made. This was extremely frustrating, so I declined his staining service and spent 3 days and $400 staining the driveway myself. I then paid Sean the remaining $3K. December 2018: Two months later, and we still have water coming into the laundry room. I then noticed large cracks in the driveway where it meets the road. I have had other contractors come out stating that the driveway was not poured correctly and that additional repairs will need to be conducted. As stated before, Sean had declined to communicate with me. His partner Eric Duncan will not return my text messages either. At the end of the day, this project that was initially estimated at $6K has now cost me $8,600. I have been quoted another $1000 from another contractor to repair Sean's work. To add, Sean posted a picture of my house/driveway on his website with no authorization from me or my wife. I have requested this picture to be removed, however, it is still listed. I implore anyone reading this to not hire Sean Anderson and/or Eric Duncan. The
Response from Anderson Stoneworks
"The customer couldn't afford his work tried to use an auto insurance claim check for hail damage repairs for his wife and his vehicles to pay me (fraudulent), when they wouldn't let him cash it he had to take out a loan. The loan wasn't enough to complete the project, therefore the original estimate was scrapped. Equipment rental was quoted by sunbelt rentals (not myself) and Mr. Tobias was told he would need retaining walls to retain the slope of the substrate which we were to return and install at a later date, since Mr. Tobias has failed to raise the funds he has resorted to blackmailing me with slander and trying to extort free labor from my company."

Sean was very easy to work with. He resurfaced a deteriorating aggregate pool deck and applied a top coat that has made the pool look brand new.
