Anthony & Sylvan Pools

$100,000 hole in the ground I’m not sure how A&S pools has any good reviews. I can only assume they were written after a bribe offer as one was offered to me too, but I did not respond. Zero customer service, lengthy delays for missing parts and extended employee absences with zero communication, failed inspections, broken equipment and unanswered warranty calls. (Equipment is still broken) The design photos of my pool showed tile around the spa, but they only tiled one side. When I asked the project manager when they were coming out to tile the rest, he literally laughed out loud in front of me. True, it wasn’t in the contract, but it wasn’t reviewed verbally and the images I was shown had tile all around. It’s not about the money, it’s about being honest, communicative, responsible business people and Anthony & Sylvan Pools is not. Buyer beware.

Eight (8) years ago, Dave C. the sales guy, wanted the sale, got it and then was pretty much a jerk whenever I had questions or concerns during the project. The one guy that was fabulous, attentive and listened was let go from the company in the middle of the project. The pool was and is the best thing we did for hot summers and our kids and grandkids visiting, no regrets there. Just regret we went with Anthony & Sylvan. Your mileage and experience may vary, but we won't take that road again.

My pool is gorgeous. I think so. Everyone who sees it thinks so. The problem was getting here and problems still remain (2.5 months after construction was completed). My story is long, but to summarize: the design process was fine, I didn't feel like I got to customize it and be involved beyond picking colors but that's okay because I would have no clue what I was doing anyway; help with obtaining a loan was appreciated; getting them to care about you after they receive their final payment was a nightmare. I took time off for pool school since they will only do it during the week before 3pm and then they no-showed. I had to force them to reschedule at a time that worked for me since it wasn't my fault they canceled. Their subcontractors damaged my home which I told them about back in September. As of Jan 1, 2024, it still has not been fixed. They keep making promises ("We're sending out someone today", "I don't know how this fell through the cracks", "we're so sorry"). STILL NOTHING! even though they know I can't get my HOA deposit back until they finish. Do you think they'll pay me the interest I've missed out on? Dought it. If you do choose A&S, try to put payments in escrow so they don't get (at least a portion) of their money until the project is complete and they fix all damage.

I had a problem with a few problems with my pool equipment and a few cracked tiles. Chantz Wieger came out checked out my problems and had folks out to fix them the next day. While he was here he cleared a couple of Spa jet I didn't realise had issue. He did this all in about ten minutes his knowledge of my pools operation how to fix along with warranties amazing. He cares about his clients and their satisfaction with there new pool a rarity in todays world Bravo Chantz good job to A&S for having quality folks working for them Bravo!!!!!

Do not trust this company to build your pool. We had them build our pool in 2016 and in 2017 there was a structural crack that formed in the wall of our hot tub. They will not stand behind their warranty. We spent over a year working with them until we threatened to get the state contractors board involved. It took them a year to demo the wall of our pool and hot tub to fix the structural crack. When they replastered the hot tub they did a terrible plaster job and left a very poor finish on the hot tub. They have refused to do anything about it. I am having to get the state contractors board involved. This company is a nightmare to deal with! Stay away!

Robert was great, incredibly knowledgeable and honest in getting us all the info we needed, can't wait to work with them and see how this turns out!

Once management reviewed the issues, they agreed to fix the issues in a timely manner. Then, we received no contact for several weeks until I left a message with their answering service. Then, the following day, they drained my pool and had someone come out to start fixing areas that were not an issue. My pool set empty for over a month while they tried to fix the issues, finally I decided my pool needed to have water in it before more issues I am not happy with repairs of my NEW POOL and now we have additional issues from what they tried to fix. I am a firm believer in repeat business, and this is my 2nd pool with Anthony & Sylvan Pool. My first home pool was awesome, but this has been nothing but poor project managing. And we look forward to the contractor board investigation and would highly recommend that you consider not using Anthony & Sylvan Pools for your new pool needs.

I believe this company is the absolute best at what they do. From initial design through construction and startup, they exceeded all of my expectations. Their team and subcontractors are the best. As a licensed general contractor, my expectations were high. Anthony & Sylvan surpassed them in every aspect. The project was a complete success.

Perfect process. I did a lot of research on pool companies and decided on Anthony and Sylvan. Dan, the pool designer, was amazing. He designed our pool to our wishes and did not try to upsell us. From excavation to completion, our project manager kept us informed on the progress. Our project manager came by quite often to supervise the process and always sent us photos of the progress. The pool came out perfect. If I ever build a pool again, I will only choose Anthony and Sylvan. So many pool companies subcontract out and do not supervise the subcontractor’s work. Anthony and Sylvan does not do that.

After years of saving up for our dream pool, my family was so excited when it was finally built by Anthony and Sylvan. The pool was built on-time and built just like the designed drawings. Everything was great until 8 months later when the pool developed large cracks. After two years, the builder determined the pool will need to be removed and rebuilt. A year and a half later, the 2nd pool was completed, and again, about 8 months later, large cracks began to appear. It is now been a year and a half and I am still dealing with the builder to remove and rebuild properly. I have gotten the state contactors board involved and they have already told the builder to completely remove and rebuild, but they still drag their feet on fixing this. After paying $100k up front, I have got nothing but an empty concrete hole that my family gets to look at every day. This will be another summer with no swimming pool. Since 2018, we have had two summer we were able to use the pool. All of the rest of the time it has been dry and under repairs Do not go through my nightmare. Find a different company.

In 2018 we bought our inground pool from Anthony & Sylvan Pool for over $45,000, less that 4 years later we are dealing with Plaster Delamination that is causing calcium nodules, this is volcano-like blisters that break, and they are all over our pool, this is because there is a void or cavity between the plaster and the inner shell or a bond failure, due to poor craftsmanship/not applying the plaster correctly. Adams Pool Solutions was hired by Anthony & Sylvan to do the plaster, and both say that it is not their problem, so basically they are telling us that we need to pay to get our new pool resurfaced. POOLS DO NOT NEED TO BE RESURFACED LESS THE 10 TO 15 YEARS OLD!!! I feel as if both of these companies ripped us off. Filed a BBB complaint and a consumer complaint with the state contractors Board.

My designer Sherry Mounce, was an angel!! She put up with me changing my mind all the time! She worked within my budget. She was very easy to reach, returned my phone calls, texts, emails just about immediately! Never dodged me onceð . She understood what I wanted, explained matters effectively and efficiently. I would highly recommend Sherry Mounce

From start to finish a wonderful experience and top rate job. Our project manager Adam Beeson is terrific. He hasnâ t missed a step and goes above and beyond to exceed our expectations. Fantastic job

We are super pleased with our final product. It took us a loooong time to get there though! Most of it, I don't think was A&S's fault, though. It was a tough year to be building a pool--there were delays based on worker availability, supplies, and weather. So although it took much longer than originally planned, we are very pleased with the beautiful pool we have in the end.

We got our pool completed in 9 weeks from the day they dug ! Communication was on point and overall process was simple. I refer them to everyone that is thinking about a pool. Great job !

The process was great from start to finish. They helped me with choosing a great design and the team had great communication through the entire process. I would definitely hire them again.

More than happy with the quality and timely matter

Design was exactly what we wanted and the building process was seamless. They provided us with all the necessary information for the build and explained every step of construction. Anthony Sylvan was my first choice to build my pool and im glad I stuck with my gut.

Wonderful, From start to finish everything went smoothly. Started mid December and was Swimming first if March.

We expected delays due to material costs or labor shortages; however, there were some trades that rescheduled last-minute or even no-showed multiple times (concrete deck forming and fire-feature specifically). Despite these delays we are satisfied with the quality of the finished product and Anthony & Sylvan staff were all friendly and professional. Nigel (sales) was friendly and came up with an awesome design for the pool, Jozlynn (scheduling) always responded promptly (sometimes even messing us directly after office hours to answer us instead of waiting until the next day), and our PM (Tom) fixed at least 2 issues himself when subs were slow to respond to callbacks. Normally a builder is responsible for choosing reliable subs and keeping on schedule and I debated a 4 start rating; however, I know the two trades with the largest delays had few options available in town and I believe A&S did the best they could. Since the only issue was delays and not quality and given the context (Covid) I don't think it's fair to blame A&S for those delays.
