Review by Roxanne G. in Randallstown, MD
I would not hire him again if he paid me.
Response by Armour Home Improvement, Inc.: We are very surprised to see this negative review/comment as Armour went over and beyond to get approval by her Insurance Company for additional work than what was included in the original scope. Further, Mrs. G. [Consumer name withheld at their request ]old Armour that she was very happy with everything as well as to crew members after all work was completed. When it was time to pay her final balance; Mrs. G. refused and said that she was not satisfied with the quality of the carpet installed. Mrs. G. selected the carpet that was within her allowance per the Insurance Scope (replaced at same quality/value as what was installed prior to the water damage). We have no control over the Insurance value and will not commit Insurance Fraud to replace with higher quality/value to improve the value of her home. If Mrs. G. wanted higher quality grade carpet than what she had to improve her home value then she could have selected higher grade carpet and paid the difference out of her pocket once cost was quoted but this was never mentioned at the time of her selection, order or installation. Armour had no alternative but to forward this matter over to collections and to contact the Maryland Insurance Fraud Department as funds were released to Mrs. G. on behalf of Armour to perform the Insurance work which was completed per the scope.

Asks for money and gets paid and then does not do the work. When questioned he turns it around that is was you.
Response by Armour Home Improvement, Inc.: False acquisitions made. Various work was performed and completed per the contract/change orders and payment was received. After many attempts asking for material selections needed; the customer did not provide as a decision could not be made. Armour assisted the customer many times with options and by taking her to supply houses. Suddenly, Customer requested all work to be stopped during construction.

Beware! Armour Home Improvement is the WORST contractor that I have ever ever experienced in my whole life!! They are the WORST among the WORST. Keep away from them! The guy Rob is a totally arrogant and ignorant guy, who would never ever answer your phone or text messages while one time I used another phone number and found him sitting in the office. And, the WORST customer service! The woman who was in the office either did not answer the phone or tried to ignore you. It ended up we could only use email to communicate with each other. In addition, they lied to me a couple of times, making excuses, saying that the worker got sick but actually I found out it was a lie, I have the evidence. In sum, they are arrogant and ignorant! BEWARE!!! KEEP AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST! I would give a "zero", not even a 0.5!
Response by Armour Home Improvement, Inc.: This Customer is a scam artist and will not pay his bill per his contract. He would call and email 5 times or more a day including weekends and evening hours. He was very rude and disrespectful. We even replied after hours as best as we could cause he was not going to stop and contact us during business hours. He will tell you what the cost should be even though all cost are listed in contract and agreed to pay this amount. He decided not to move forth with a shower bench in his shower so we applied credit for material and labor for this per contract charge he was billed for but he told us what the cost should be even though it was 3x the cosT.

I would not recommend this contractor to anyone. He did not start on time despite fine weather and when we cancelled the contract because of his delay he would not return our whole deposit. We had a horrible experience with him and, in my opinion, he does not care about satisfying his customers.
Response by Armour Home Improvement, Inc.: (consumer name withheld per their request) cancelled the contract without cause and she was refunded $8,228.00 dollars. Armour Home Improvement had commenced excavation when (consumer name withheld per their request) cancelled the contract. (consumer name withheld per their request)has previously filed with The Maryland Home Improvement Commission which took no action on her accusations. She also filed with the Consumer Protection Division of the Attorney General's Office which took no action on her accusations. She is entitled to her opinion however the facts shows that the permit was delayed in the Permitting Office in Carroll County not through any action of Armour Home Improvement. Armour stands by our work and our Customers. Armour Home Improvement Inc.

My wife wrote the following review. Rob Stouffer came to my home and immediately knew how to best use the space that I wanted to renovate. We took down a wall and added a hallway to expand the bathroom. We also took down another wall and combined two closets into a beautiful walk in closet. He redid the hall bath as well. The workers were very professional and we came to know them over the time they were in my home. We had a lock box and they came when they needed to work while we were away. All permits were pulled. Rob supplied everything for the reconstruction process. He told me I only needed to buy the pretty things. With Rob's help I did not need to hire a designer. He gave me all of the measurements so that I could pick out the correct amount of tile etc. I told Rob it has been life changing. His wife is very sweet and helpful. Rob did everything in his power to achieve every thing that I envisioned. The end result is stunning.

Armour Home Improvement turned our flood-destroyed house back into a fully repaired home. Extensive damages required multiple tradesmen: dry wall, molding, duct work, carpets, hardwood floors, plumbing, etc. The work was done professionally, the workers were respectful and efficient, and all final details were wrapped up quickly. Thank you everyone at Armour!!

It was a complete removal of a large walk-in shower area. It required sealing of area and installation of new tile and marble. Overall, they were very conscientious, but I did have a problem with coordination with the marble supply/installation for the seat. The wanted me to use one supplier, but they had very limited stock. I used an alternate supplier who is very-well recommended in the region. However, Armour made the coordination difficult and didn't seem to understand the best way to coordinate with the marble supplier. It made the shower seat installation more difficult. In any case, the overall project turned out excellent. I did have to keep track of how they were laying tile pattern to ensure it was being done to plan. The overall craftsmanship was very high.
