Caution !!! . Please DO NOT HIRE this person/JBN Builder. Brian is not a professional person to work with. 100+ of excuses and lies, 8 months of follow-up to finish even a 50% of basement. Lost almost $8K due to rehire and finishing the pending work. Never picked even a single bag of building waste material, need to dispose through paid service. Do not waste your money and lose your piece of mind by hiring Brian and JBN builder. Rather Hire a reliable person, even if you feel services are slightly expensive.

I hired Brian Nawrot to build my basement including cabinets which was work for about 70k. I was promised work to be completed in 8-9 weeks. 2 years have past and only 60% of work was completed. I had to hire outside help to finish the basement. Similarly for my butlers pantry, fireplace, walk in bathroom all were not completed. He took payment in advance siting various hardships and for materials but never bothered to complete the work. The best I have seen him work is 2-3 days a week for 3-4 hours. Is very unreliable and has 1000 of excuses of why he canâ  t come and finish the work that was contracted. Never rely or pay this person as he lacks commitment, dedication and motivation for work. He cites several family issues and try to gain your sympathy. Is a smooth talker and tries to convince you that he will do the work the next available slot. When the day comes he cites health issues or children issues or family issues or his father in law issues. Never met any commitments nor is able to return the money as he claims bankruptcy.

NEVER HIRE Him ! He is a liar ! He was supposed to start work in March, smoothed talked his way into getting the contract . Made excuses after excuses . Caught his lie about getting the permit which he never applied for in the first place. Can't say enough bad things about him. Lowest scum of the earth. All talk and no work. 7 months in and still didnt do much with the basement , came once in two weeks to do anywork. Kept making excuses . Finally we fired him! He might not take money upfront but you will pay by way of time ... lots of time. Brian has no respect or value for others time . Home advisor should stop putting his name out. He's a real piece of crap! Scumbags like him should be behind bars!

In May, 2018, we hired Artisan Rebuilders to tear down a large (more than 1000 sq.ft.) and replace it with a new deck with the same footprint. We were assured by the owner/ contractor that he and his crew would begin the project in the middle of September, and that it would be finished by the end of November. In May we gave him the money to get a building pemit from the village, and were assured by him that he had paid the village. Also, we paid him for the lumber and other supplies that he would need up to, and including , the framing of the new deck. Fall began and no one from the company appeared. After many telephone calls the contractor showed up without a crew. He stated that he had fired the crew because he did not like their work, but he was insistent that he could finish the job by himself by the end of November (He never came more than three days per week, and wnen he did show up he never worked more than three hours before leaving. ) Spring arrived, and the same work habits resumed. In early June we learned that no permit had been issued. Neither an application for a permit nor the fee for such application had been filed with the village. Consequently, we had to pay not only the permit fee but also a hefty penalty fee. We fired this contractor as soon as the framing of the deck was completed. This contractor is corrupt and an inveterate liar. His work ethic is truly poor, and we give him a grade of F.

When you write a review, you either say YES, HIRE them, or NO, DON"T! This review will simply relay our experience, letting you make the decisions. First, Brian does EXCELLENT work. He was priced fairly, didn;t demand $10,000 up front or anything stupid like that. He provided a well thought out contract with payment plans and expectations. I regret not putting in a hold-back clause or timeline payment penalty if work took longer than expected. It did. A LOT longer. it DID get completed to MORE than our satisfaction. His finishing work is superior and we LOVE what was completed. The process, however, could have been made more palatable if Brian had spent less time on his phone or 'meeting with inspectors' on other projects. My bad for not putting in the mentioned clauses. Brian has opinions and ways of completing a task that weren't always in accordance with what were our expectations, but he did correct any mistakes that we pointed out. Would we hire him again? Yes, definitely. Would we demand things be done a bit differently from an expectations parameter? Yes, definitely.

We hired Brian to do a complete interior remodel of our house. We updated all the rooms. Including electrical, kitchen cabinets, flooring, lighting and plumbing fixtures, tile, molding and doors. All the work was done in a timely and professional manner. Brian was very knowledgeable and offered ideas and solutions to problems that arose during the renovation. We have recommended him to friends and family and would hire him again.

I thought Brian did an excellent job. I had him replace a wall that was covered in fake wood paneling with real stained wood boards. It looks beautiful. Quality service and craftsmanship.

Small condo - have to sell for elderly mother who is in a home now. He was contracted to paint kitchen cabinets, install granite counters via his "guy", install a sink, new appliances and replace ceiling light. After 3 months I managed to get the cabinet painting finished and the stove & range hood in. That's it. A LOT of excuses as to why the delays, the work was half done. Apparently he could not contact granite installer for 3 months. Really!? I had to let him go once I finally got him to finish the cabinets and I did get 1/2 my deposit back. Seemed great when we started but then lack of communication (he just disappeared for about a week). I'm sick, my kids sick, I have to go out of town.....oh my gosh. So frustrating. I was able to get the balance of the work finished in 2 weeks once he was gone. Found my own granite installer, and also had to find plumber and electrician. He said he could do it all. Not true and a total waste of a lot of time. Save yourself - go elsewhere.

He was able to come the next day and arrived five minutes early, which was a pleasant change from past experience with others. He was very professional and explained the steps he would be taking to attack my electrical problem. He was able to diagnose the problem within the hour. I was very pleased and will definitely call Brian whenever I need an electrician.

Certain circuit breakers in my house would always pop because they were overloaded. Brian upgraded the main circuit breaker panel, rewired the house and brought it up to code. Now I don't have any problems with over loaded circuits. We also hired Brian to build a custom storage shed in the back yard. He arrived on time and worked hard to complete the projects. He was very knowledgeable and professional and we would use him again and highly recommend him to anyones.

He remodeled my garage, he did everything over there the drywall, eclectic, and painting. He has a wide knowledge to do everything. He looked out for my best interested when I had idea, and he came up with solutions to save money. Brian is a really nice, honest and upfront person.
