Let me start by saying that I love giving awesome reviews. I am quick to rate someone highly, and slow to give a poor review. But a poor review is more than warranted in this case. First, I will say that Scott and his crew are very friendly and pleasant to work with. My fiance and I had bought a new spec home, and wanted to change the paint color of the walls, kitchen cabinets, doors, and baseboards; we wanted the floors completely replaced, and multiple ceiling fans/lights installed. Scott said he and his crew could do everything, and encouraged me to also replace the existing baseboards with new ones, since it would not be much more to do so. I agreed, and the entire project cost about $15,000. My fiance and I had not moved in to the home yet; we were still living at our apartment until the house project was completed, so nearly all the work was unsupervised. I came to the house on their last day on the project, and when I saw the floors and walls, I was thrilled with their appearance, and even told them I would be giving them a rave review! Then, over the next few days, I inspected the quality of the work, and the less obvious details. The floors and paint looked beautiful, but literally every other detail of the project was done sloppily. The crown molding of the kitchen cabinets was standing about 1/4 away from the cabinets, and were merely glued on. so an entire strip of the molding fell off onto the floor. The baseboards had been pre-painted, then nailed on, and hardly any of the nails had been painted, so each one was visible. Almost every one of the doors had noticeable damage done to the corner, and two of the doors did not close at all. There were smudges and nicks that had not been touched up; a little of that is expected, but some of them were in plain view. The most shocking part is that our patio was used as a work station, and plastic and boards were nailed directly into our stucco walls. Dozens of nail holes were visible, as well as large blobs of paint on our walls, and nothing was done to repair anything. My fiance is the one who discovered this, since it never even occurred to me to check for damage OUTSIDE our home, when all the work was for the interior. A couple of weeks later, two guys showed up to handle the repairs; one was a trainee. My fiance and I left to run errands, and our one request was to make sure they did not leave any doors open so our cats would not get out. The trainee painted the nails in our master bathroom and created multiple paint smudges on the floor. The other guy handled the repair on the stucco, but it looked terrible dozens of holes still remained, it did not blend at all, and he had gotten stucco over another contractors tools, and not cleaned it off. The repair work actually made everything look worse than before. And most of the repairs we had mentioned before were not even done. When we got back home, and saw how poorly everything had been done, we decided to check the video camera to see if anything else had happened. That is when I saw that our back door had been left open, and unattended, for 12 full minutes. Thank God our cats did not get out. I called again, this time in tears, and was told they would come out again the following Saturday (I was not given a choice on day or time, just informed when they would be there). This time, we stayed and observed the repairs, and I believe the guy who came out did his absolute best to repair things this time, but the stucco still looks noticeably different from the rest. Bottom line, this was blatant disrespect of my property. These guys are really nice, but using my brand-new walls on my patio as a workbench is unacceptable. I do not understand why they thought that was okay. The corners of all my doors look horrible, and that cannot be fixed without replacing them. I am posting this review in hopes they will be more careful and respectful in the future.
