My initial contact with him was poor. He basically accused me of not being serious about the job before wanting to come give me an estimate. I told him I was serious and things went ok from there. But he was not as professional as I would have hoped.

This persone should not be a part of your service. The "tricks" that he played are the main reason that your type of service is supposed to reduce. This person initially quoted one conplete price and circumstances and then the next day "forgot" most of the agreements. YOU SHOULD INVESTIGATE THIS VENDOR. People of this nature prey on new imigrants and the elderly and that is why I think that more screening should be done for your contractors. I would not recommend this man A.J. to anyone for handyman or general contracting service. He took way more than the allowed 10% for a deposit, then couldn't get the sliding door we had agreed upon. He wanted to charge $1250.00 more than the contract we had signed to tear our opening apart. When we asked for our money back, all of a sudden he says he can complete the job for the price but then asked for more money anyways. Needless to say, we are not very happy with your referral service if you represent people like this. We now are in small claims court trying to get our $2000.00 back from A.J. who refuses to give our money back even though he never performed any work. What do you think about that? Not only that he threatened us in a underhanded way and we had to hire an attorney.
