Late showing up but did the work quickly and efficiently.

When I called for an estimate, the receptionist at Ashmasters was very efficient, professional and courteous. I was told that the worker would arrive between 11:00 and 1:00 on the day that we agreed upon. At 2:00, the service man had not yet arrived. He then called to say that he was on the way and that he had gotten held up at another job, but that I had the option of rescheduling since he was late. I had him come anyway. When he arrived, he looked up the chimney with a flashlight, told me there was very little creosote in the chimney and that it didn't need cleaning. Then he went to his truck to get the receipt. When he came back in the house he said that he had gone around to the back of the house to look at the chimney cap, and that they could come back another time to service the chimney cap and flashing for $225.00. I told him that I had done some reading on the Internet about chimney caps and flashing, and that I did not feel they needed any attention at this time. He charged $40.00 for the inspection, as had been previously agreed. Since this is the first time I have had a chimney inspected, I have nothing to compare it to, however, I will probably try out a different company next time, even though there were no major complaints with Ashmasters.

They were on time and repairs were complete in under 2 hrs.

We scheduled a normal chimney cleaning after moving into our new house. Upon inspection, Ashmasters recommended replacing the damper (which we had some problems with). They quoted a price that ended up being very "soft"- they came down significantly, but I still wonder whether I paid too much. .

Andy arrived ontime and was very pleasant. He was able to get the chimney cleaned and inspected it. He was honest about the work to be done and did not try to address work that was not needed. He scheduled a follow-up appt for the re-pointing of the chimney and addressing the flue. The masonary work was completed on 9/2. They arrived ontime and even cleaned out the chimney's ashbox.

Ashmasters were timely and efficient in getting the work accomplished. I actually was not at the home when they did the outside work; but they obligingly returned the same morning to do the chimney sweep, which I appreciated. Their pricing is competitive.

Excellent job, a little rushed. They'll be back next year.
