Asphalt Paving Pros

Absolute garbage!! Look at the complaints on their BBB listing!!! I had my driveway paved in September 2016 and it almost immediately started creating a sinkhole in the middle of it. I thought maybe the asphalt had not fully cured yet, so I gave it some time, but now it has grown into a giant hole straight through to mud and dirt, which has started growing grass and requires mowing. Justin Smith stopped by to take a look at it and promised to repair the hole and do a new layer over the top of the whole drive at the beginning of this season. It is now almost the end of the season and it is still unrepaired and he will not answer my calls or call back. I will be filing for Small Claims Court soon.

I hired Asphalt Paving Pros to install paving outside of my garage to direct water away from the garage door and down the alley into the drain. The crew came out in late September. While doing the work, I asked the crew foreman whether the asphalt would direct water away from the garage, because it seemed that the installed asphalt would actually direct water into the garage, and not away from it. I asked this question twice, and the foreman assured me that the water would drain away from the garage. The next day, during a heavy downpour, water was flowing directly into my garage. The installed pavement worsened the issue instead of alleviating it. I called the crew foreman that day and sent pictures, asking if they could please come out to repair the installed asphalt. The foreman apologized and assured me that they would come out within a week. It is now the end of November, approximately eight weeks after the initial installation. I call Asphalt Paving Pros every week, and every week they assure me that they are coming out to repair the asphalt. They give me a day that they are coming and promise to be there. Every week, they do not show and do not even call to say they are not coming. I have to continually call and ask if and when they are planning to repair the original job, and am continually ignored. I would not hire this company again.

Buddy and crew did a very professional job. They took three driveways on my block and prepped them,patched them,resurfaced them and seal them in 2 day. I plan to us them again this spring on another project Kent H. Mt Lebanon,Pa

The work provided was great, the crew came out quickly, did the job, and cleaned up. The problem with this company is the customer service. The company seems to have difficulties with their credit card merchant system, and for some reason, the owner seems to think it’s the customer’s responsibility to correct it. He was paid in full by my credit card company, verified by both my credit card company and his merchant company. However, he keeps calling asking me to get things on his end straightened out. It’s borderline harassment.

They were the best!!! We have heard so many horror stories when hiring asphalt contractors, but these guys were fantastic. Very professional, personable, reliable, hard working kind individuals and Buddy could not have been more accommodating!!! We have had several that would never even return our calls! When waiting for the asphalt to be delivered they even helped out the young neighbors with their heavy equipment. Best in the business!!! Mike and Lynne.

job well done

After searching for months for someone to install a blacktop driveway for us, we finally found Asphalt Paving Pros and got the job done in a timely manner for a good price. I would recommend!

I was a bit detail oriented and a bit picky at times and they handled it with a smile.

They were prompt and very helpful and accommodating.

Asphalt Paving Pros were professional and communicated effectively when there were changes in schedule due to the weather. Other companies would not return calls or seemed shady or estimates were extremely high, so I was appreciative of their efficiency and reasonable price. The driveway was done during the same week that I called. There was a minor issue but they came back the same day I called and took care of it.

Overall quality seems acceptable. The driveway has dirt marks all over it. When I asked about this when job was done I was told they were marks from the roller and should go a way she it rains. Well, that didn't happen. I even hosed it off a couple and there are still dirt marks.

They do good work very professional.

This is more of an update on my previous review. Justin did finally come out and "fix" my driveway. It took 3 attempts to schedule. The first attempt, he was supposed to come and said they would be here by noon. When I called at almost 2:00, he stated that he was over booked on jobs. He wanted to come the following week, to do it, but I was not going to be home. 3rd attempt, and he made it. The conversation I had with his father Melvin, was that they were going to remove the areas that were bad, and repave them. That is in NO WAY what Justin did. He came in, dumped new asphalt on top of the bad spots, and then seal coated. When he contacted me a couple days later to ask if I was satisfied, I told him that I was not. After 2 day, I already had new cracks forming in the spots he just patched, weeds already damaging the spots that he repaired, and the way it looks is disgusting for a driveway that is less than a year old. His response to me, was basically, too bad, that is what you are getting. I paid this guy $5000 for a NEW driveway, less than a year ago, and it looks like one that has been in for 5 years, and has been patched multiple times. After a week or so, waiting to hear back from Justin, I spoke to Melvin again, and he stated that they will be coming back to completely redo the driveway. Now Justin will not respond to calls, texts, or emails. Doing a little digging online, I have found that he has an F rating with the BBB, and has changed the name of his company at least 6 times to get around how bad his company is. He is a fraud, and has ZERO pride in his work, and does not care about giving his customers what they pay for..
