Atlanta Roof Repairs

I was initially matched w/ Michael for a different project at my rental property. There he completed the work quickly and on budget, but my tenants did complain to me about his sub-contractors' unprofessional behavior (smoking on front porch, borrowing owner tools w/o permission). Despite this experience, I hired him to remove and replace a wooden privacy fence at my primary residence as his quote was $600 lower than the other quoted companies, and he assured me he could start right away and finish in two weeks. Based on past experience, I felt this was true and initially, everything started off ok. After removing the old fence and replacing the structural posts, work stopped. He left several tools and some trash in my yard. A few days later, one of his workers shows up at my house and threatens to cut down all the posts with a chainsaw because he hasn't been paid by Michael and Michael wasn't returning his phone calls. We informed Michael and he apologized for the behavior and told us it was taken care of. The worker still continued to call my house looking for Michael, but I refused to speak further with him. Work resumed for a couple more days with different people, but stopped after he had to take down a tree on the fence line. Now two months have passed with no sign of him, no answer to texts or phone calls, and no way to leave a message b/c voicemail is full, but the tree is still down in my yard and all of the tools and trash are still here. While work was ongoing I wrote multiple installment checks to cover materials, paying slightly over the contracted amount due to some project changes. Now I have less than half a fence and he has all the money. The original contract started the first week in November, 2016. I was quoted two weeks to complete it at that time, and as of Jan. 20th I have no fence and a huge mess.

Michael completed the job quickly and good results. He is ethical, pleasant, and efficient. He does most types of work,I am adding him to my list ad recommending him to my friends.

DO NOT HIRE THIS CONTRACTOR, Michael Johnson of Atlanta Roof Repairs. We are APPALLED that he was listed on Home Advisor as an approved and screened contractor - this .5 Star Rating is more than he deserves, but there was no option for 0. He has taken our deposit and has not done anything but make excuses for why he hasn't started or completed the 3 small projects he was hired to do, which at most, should have taken 2 days tops to complete (his own words). He claims to have done this type of handyman work for years, and that he can do it in his sleep, but he doesn't show up, doesn't return phone calls, and when you are on the phone with him and try to get answers out of him, he interrupts your conversation saying he's getting another phone call that he's got to take, an hangs up on you. For nearly two weeks now, we have spent countless hours waiting for he and his crew to show up, to no avail, and countless hours calling him and leaving messages for him to return our calls, to no avail. He's the only one that's benefited by unethically and immorally taking our deposit, without doing any work in return. This is beyond ridiculous and extremely unprofessional, and now we have to resort to other measures to get our money back. He obviously has no intentions of doing the work or honoring the contract he signed. This man had the nerve to say he's given his life to Jesus Christ, but has no problem ripping off honest and hard-working people of their money. LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!
