We had a horrific experience from start to finish. I should have checked his reviews before we hired Sal to do the project, but they were recommended by the Leisure Pool Manufacturing Co. Sal was so nice at the start but work on my new home pool soon slowed but the frequency of him having his **hand out** never changed. Communication between us soon changed to the point when I or my wife called, he would not accept our calls and would not return them. When I did finally hear from him, he would promise to return on a certain day and time and would not be there and would not call. He did that several times. Finally, after waiting for him for 2.5 months, I gave him an ultimatum to finish and he sent me an email threatening me with his attorney. My complaints include, but are certainly not limited to the following: #1 My 60,000 dollar pool is NOT EVEN CLOSE TO LEVEL! #2 He left out bubblers I had asked him to add to the tanning ledge. #3 My variable speed Pentair pump was not wired correctly and what he did wire was not to code. #4 Wiring was damaged from his trying to cram more wire in the makeup box than he should have, also a code violation. #5 He plumbed my filter backward so it was blowing sand into my pool returns. The last time I saw him, he came to clean the pool but left it with sand blowing in it and did not clean it. When I asked him about that condition, he said that was normal and never came back. Apparently, he knew it was backward and chose to not fix it correctly. #6 Even though I provided him 4 - 4 inch PVC pipes into the equipment room under the foundation to run all plumbing to the inside, he FORGOT to plumb a discharge line outside but inside, he left me A 2 INCH ROLL UP HOSE THAT I HAVE TO UNROLL AND ROLL OUTSIDE THROUGH MY ENTRY DOOR FOR WATER TO BE DISCHARGED, making a real mess to deal with! #7 He installed an electric panel too close to other equipment and had to be moved to meet code! #8 He left me a TEST WELL coming through my concrete and when he put a cover on it, he left me with a real mess of caulking o around it. #9 The least of the problems he left me with was one of the biggest and most important to me and that was this. HE NEVER SHOWED ME HOW TO USE THE EQUIPMENT and he promised to do that as well. He also PROMISED TO LEAVE MY BEAUTIFUL POOL SWIM READY and DID NOT! #10 He never registered my warranty with Pentair but also installed a piece of equipment with a 2017 MANUFACTURER DATE ON IT! I am sure I will receive another threat from him about hearing from his attorney but all these items were carefully documented with notes, texts, email, and photographs! I would suggest you find ANYONE ELSE to install your pool. This company has also been reported to PENTAIR and LEISURE POOLS for an extremely BOTCHED INSTALLATION that has already cost me money to have a number of these failed attempts corrected! COLOR ME SORRY I EVER CALLED THEM!

I would not recommend this company. We worked with them for over 15 months for what should have been, as was told to us to be, a several month project. We ultimately had to make the decision to terminate the final work with them, which really was not ideal because we are still stuck with issues (flooding, for one) and unable to finish our permitting process. So difficult is it for homeowners to work with DeKalb permitting that we even tried to pay them to just make the inspection calls for us to finish the permits out. They have decided to ignore us entirely, so I figure is time to share our experience with others so maybe at least one person does not have to go through a similar experience. We employed Atlantic Design and Construction starting June 2017 to install a large, in-ground pool and do grading, a retaining wall, electrical/plumbing and a large area of paver decking around the pool. The first bad sign was when they did not explain to us the contract did not include something as basic as the dirt removal for the pool. This ended up costing us nearly $2500 in surprise fees. You install pools, how do you not explain that to people?! As the project went on we had to ask them to redo work more times than I can even count. Common sense work was done carelessly and incorrectly. If we had not been persistent in having at least some of the issues resolved, we would have had an extremely poorly done retaining wall, steps that were built dangerously, incorrectly and completely off-center, crooked fencing, uneven pool decking with failed polymeric sand installation, worse flooding, etc...etc. We still have a poorly done retaining wall, issues with flooding into the pool, incorrectly done backwash line (which may put us out $2k to resolve), uneven fencing with 1 nail ends sticking out literally everywhere and incomplete permitting (who knows what that will reveal). We had so many reset& conversations to discuss our concerns and issues, which they AGREED they were at fault, only to be swiftly disappointed again by careless work and WEEKS without anyone showing up. It was extra disappointing because we actually, personally enjoyed them and thought after over a year of working together we had enough of a relationship that they wanted to do the right thing. They would often talk about other work they were doing in the area, which was insulting to hear when we just wanted them to finish ours. It seemed because they were chasing those other checks they quit caring about the ones we had already given them. I am just so incredibly disappointed for the tens of thousands of dollars and the immeasurable number of personal hours and actual physical labor we have had to put in to get the work mostly completed and the endless patience, understanding, conversations, etc we had with the owners trying to get them to deliver on the work. Just this past week we had to spend half a day fixing an overflow pipe underneath our pavers that they dislodged that stopped the pool from draining when it was too full. They would not respond to us about resolving the issue, even though that is supposed to be part of their guarantee. I truly hope we do not have any bigger issues because it does not appear they actually stand behind their work. I waited to write this review for so long because we feel so backed into a corner about what our options are as homeowners. However, since they refuse to even acknowledge or help us finish our permitting I think people need to know what they are getting into. If you still choose to move forward with them, I would personally suggest they only do the pool and pick another company to do the other work (grading, hardscaping, etc). Be prepared to supervise the heck out of EVERYTHING, because if you do not you will sorely regret all your hard-earned money being...

We installed a fiberglass pool in a challenging lot to get into. AD&C did not flinch and figured out the best way to get the pool in the yard and installed it perfectly. All components including concrete, electrical, gas, and plumbing are built to code which is very important. As challenges come along the way, they will brainstorm up a solution and get the job done. Never did I worry that anything substandard was done and in fact they explained to me why some things are done a certain way which is great for the homeowner not in the construction trade. I would hire again if the need presents itself without hesitation.

The owner and the son came to work on the pool, just to pull the sand out, had 55 gallon drums for him to use, also asked to replace some jets that were bad. The son was doing most of the work, while the owner observed. Since it was winter, we had to wait to test the pool. I had turned it on, and the jets weren't screwed in, and came out, and the leaking is still continuing. I called, and there was no answer, but texts started coming in. He told me they didn't have time to come out, then told me they didn't have the right tool to fix it. Then, I received a call from the owner, and he was literally screaming at me to not call or text any longer. It felt very threatening. I am still losing water out of my pool, and still there is no resolution. I certainly do not recommend this company. I want my money back, and do not want to be contacted by this company again.
