Attic Innovations of Georgia is a farce. Rick Homer and Renee should not be allowed to continue doing business in the manner that they do. Their reviews are horrible. They have a D rating on the Better Business Bureau. People have gone on Attic Innovations of Georgias Facebook page and posted negative reviews. If you look up reviews for their company on the internet, you will find several negative reviews and the all are very similar dealing with his lack of customer service. I wish I had seen the reviews before hiring them to place insulation at my home. I needed insulation in my attack garage, basement, and behind the siding of my home in between the studs. Rick Homer assured me that he and his crew could and would place the blown in insulation behind the walls and make my entire house very comfortable. He removed planks of the siding off the house and barely placed a few particles of insulation in certain areas inside the walls. I did not know that he cheated me out of insulation and did not place insulation inside the walls (as promised) before I paid him in full for the job. About a month later I found out what he had done. I began calling trying to get him to come back out. Most of the time he would never answer his telephone. Other times he would call back and give me a bogus date that he was going to come to my home. He has never shown up to redo this job right or even look at it as of this date. He and Rene rushed to my house and were extremely accommodating and made many promises to get my business. He even said that over the years the insulation might settle so just call him out to add more. I paid him thousands of dollars for this job. He talked about his father teaching him to do people right, and his word was his bond. Well, he lied to my face. It has been almost a year that I have constantly called and texted trying to get him to come out and he has not done so. In addition, he punctured the line connected to my air conditioner unit when he nailed the siding back in the wall. I had no air and had to have it repaired by an air conditioning company. My house was very cold during the winter due to the no and lack of insulation installed by Rick Homer. I found his business on Home Finder. Home Finder needs to stop listing his company because he is not trustworthy. I wonder if the main company (Attic Innovations in Texas) know what kind of dealings Rick is doing to the customers. I have read so many complaints from other people until we should band together and take him to court. He is the perfect example of what Clark Howard calls â Customer No Service. I would never recommend him or his business and give him a 0 on the ratings.

"Sherry we are sooo sorry that you cannot understand. Rick and his guys pulled off boards from the outside of your house to fill it in with insulation. They did an awesome job on a huge house. You think you could be referring to a very small spot that you think they missed. You live an hour and a half from us. And he said he'd come show you that it was done correctly when he was in that direction. And I'm NOT sure why you included me in your complaint. I've answered the phone EVERY time you've called. And relayed messages. So again, I'm sorry you feel cheated on a small spot that he said was unreachable. Hope you enjoy the parts that yo"

First, the positive - Rick does ok work. If you are not interested in customer service, knowing the status of the project, receiving proper paper work or having the job finished when promised then he is good at what he does (but not the best). If, however, you are concerned about being treated with respect, receiving follow up communication and getting promised paperwork, look elsewhere. I signed a contract with Rick on January 31 to replace insulation, repair a basement foundation wall, patch some basement floor cracks and mitigate mold for a house I am repairing to sell. The contract was very expensive for the work but in line with other quotes. Rick promised to start the job on February 4 and be finished by end of day February 5. I was promised a nicely typed out summary of everything that was done at the completion of the job that I could show potential buyers. Great so far. Then Rick asked for full payment before starting the job but allowed me to write two checks. One for half of the job and another for the second half of the job but postdated to his anticipated completion date. This should have been my first red flag. The job started as scheduled and things were great at the end of the first day. The old insulation removed, new insulation blown into the attic and all look very good. All that was left was the basement mold mitigation, wall and floor repairs. The end of the second day came and went and the job was not finished (but Rick cashed the second check anyway). After plenty of excuses, crews not bothering to show up and other delays, all parts of the job were finally finished February 12th but I still did not have the promised paperwork. To make a long story short, I still don't have the promised paperwork, after multiple calls and texts with more empty promises. There is still mold in the basement, which Rick has been advised of, after he said it was taken care of. So, then, why the bad review? First, Rick does not communicate. He will not answer calls or texts to his cell phone. Forget calling the published business number. The call will be answered but not by Rick and not by anybody who can do anything but make empty promises (still waiting on that paperwork I was promised last Friday on the phone that was delayed because Rick was 'at a trade show'). Second, he does not do what he promises to do. I still have mold and don't have the promised paperwork, as of this review, backing up the job. Third, he takes your money before finishing the job. This one is on me for writing the checks as asked. However, common courtesy from Rick would have been to wait until the job was complete before taking final payment. Shame on me and lesson learned so buyer beware. Rick will probably respond to this review claiming I am bitter, he did was he said he would, which is not 100% true, advise you to look at all his other 5 star reviews and not take my review serious; and he may be right. I have tried to be as objective as I can, but I am disappointed in myself for trusting Rick based upon the result of our business relationship, empty promises and incomplete deliveries. Look at his most recent reviews and you will see a downward trend in his perceived quality that, for his sake, I hope he corrects because personally I donâ t care.

We really liked Rick after our first consultation. In that first meeting, we told him we did not want to be responsible for patches in the wall, sanding, or clean up. We wanted a ready to paint finish. When setting up the appt, I was told it would take one day. It took 2 days. Into the evenings. Feel it was rushed. Patches were missing, and the walls were NOT ready to paint. I called them and told him I could not get the patches to look right for paint. I was told a professional drywall guy would contact me. it has been weeks and nothing. Which I should not of been responsible for in the first place. Also, they put all the holes at eye level so they are SO apparent. They really need to put these on the tops of the walls instead. Which you think would make it easier to blow in all the way. An apparent trade show got them busy, too busy to honor commitments I guess. I am extremely frustrated I cannot paint my walls and halve to hire another professional to smooth out the patches. I am going to see if my credit card company can help me out. ALSO, I was told I would apply for 15 months free financing. I will not even get into that. Just remember, do NOT schedule until you receive your financing credit card. Smyrna, Ga. 30082

Terrible customer service. I bought a solar attic exhaust fan which took them over a month to install because they showed up with short ladders to get into a 2 story house. They were going to put the ladder in the 1st story gutter to get to the 2nd story...damaging the gutter, or nail a board to my 1st story roof...damaging the gutter. They eventually had to hire a roofer to do it properly. They also applied a sprayed Radiant Barrier in my attic. They did not mention that I should remove my luggage, so it got a silver coating as well. They tried unsuccessfully to clean it and then left it in the rain on my front porch without informing me. The story goes on...do not use them.
Response from Attic Innovations Of Georgia
"Ken, We're sorry you are so frustrated, But EIGHT months is a little far back. So I can see how you'd forget a few things. You are looking over the fact of how your home feels with the fan and new insulation. And the times you said how much you liked it. You didn't even use Home Advisor for your attic job, and because you wanted Rick to give you back loads of money, you think you can hurt us by these words? We stand behind our work 100%. So, while Rick wasn't there and IF your gutter would have been damaged, it would have been replaced. But..... Our MANY MANY GREAT REVIEWS speak for themselves."

Rick (the owner) was amazing throughout the process. He is very professional and courteous. His crew was also very friendly. They were all amazing guys and a pleasure to work with. Rick takes pride in his work and services his customers as if he was doing this for himself. His price is very competitive and fair. He will keep you informed throughout the process and if he finds any surprises (like exposed wires or gaps in the roof that should be addressed, etc.) he will bring these to your attention and educate you and offer to take care of it for you while doing the work. The crew showed up right on time and the first thing they did was lay down protection on the carpet and surrounding area to contain their work and keep my house clean. There was no sign that they were even there when they left as they did an excellent job cleaning up. I highly recommend Attic Innovations for all of your insulation needs

I have absolutely nothing but praises for Rick and Ms. Rene. They came to do the insulation in my attic and turned out to be more of a blessing than I could have imagined. Genuine people who are love what they do. Ms. Rene educated me on what the insulation was and why it was important to have it done. Rick came in and did the job as a professional does a job. There is much more that I can say but I will say that it will be your best decision to have Attic Innovations do the job. They treat you like family.

Be patient. These folks do not rush, and do not take short cuts. Quality work takes time, and we could not be happier with the end result of what these folks did. I am no expert on attic insulation, but what I had was nearly 50 year old blown in cellulose insulation, nasty, smelly, and a continuous source of allergens and dust in our home. The old insulation had all but decomposed to a bunch of musty dust, just nasty. These folks vacuumed out the old insulation, that work alone taking more than 5 hours. To be honest this was the most impressive part of their work. They paid attention, got into every nook and crevice of our attic. When finished, it was shockingly clean. Baffles were installed along the roof line and nice new snow-white CertainTeed InsulSafe SP Premium Blowing Wool insulation (I looked up the full name from the website) was installed. Although we are looking forward to the energy savings, there were some immediate benefits that for us alone made this project worth it: the immediate difference in air quality, and the quiet hush throughout our home. So do I recommend these folks? Absolutely! Everyone involved was a pleasure to work with, they appropriately set expectations, and in the end delivered a project we will enjoy for years. Worth every penny.

Rick went the extra mile redoing a crawl space ceiling insulation project after a potential home buyer’s crazy home inspection found fault with the installation he had done earlier (even though I thought it looked terrific.) He researched and found a white fabric-like product that was stapled to the joists over the just-installed batting insulation, making the crawl space’s ceiling look absolutely beautiful, clean, and more like an interior ceiling than a crawl space. He and his helper came and worked all day to make certain the job was completed to assure the timely sale of our home to a buyer. Rick does his absolute best to make the customer happy. He juggles many tasks simultaneously, which can sometimes strain communication, so it is best to keep accurate records of all communications and agreements and to deal directly with Rick if there are any concerns.
Response from Attic Innovations Of Georgia
"Ms. Sara, Rick did your crawl space exactly like installers in this area do it. like you stated it was "terrific"! Your inspector evidently wasn't from this area. And without any more money he came back and UNDID the entire job and re did it with no extra money. And that was including your "white fabric" that was absolutely beautiful, that cost him more money. Rick ALWAYS goes overboard. He is the kindest man I know. We as a team thank you for your kind statement."

Rick and his team are great! Make sure that communication is clear of what kind of work done you want them to do before they start installing insulation. The work is great and Rick is definitely easy to work with. Professional! Hi Rick and Renee --- This is a response to your response. Renee was very rude to me over the phone that I requested that I only speak to Rick. Rick assured me that he will take care of things and he will come back to my house to finish my attic (the insulation was not sufficient. I sent Rick pictures on August 24th). I have been calling and texting Rick asking about finishing the job but I still have not received a call back. Last call from I made to Rick was Monday, Sept 10. Thank you for all that you do. But due to the communication issues, I rated you 4. When Rick told me that he will only charge me for the materials which I already paid for $300 on 9/7/2018, I told him I needed a final bill. Which I have not yet received. And to this date, I have not heard from Rick. It is now 9/13/2018. Please improve your communication. Renee, please do not charge my card when not necessary. Addendum: 9/13/2018 @ 8:27 AM, I finally received a call from Rick. AS ALWAYS, he is wonderful and very kind. I prefer to speak to Rick when it comes to this matter. Thank you and God bless!
Response from Attic Innovations Of Georgia
"Debbie, We are not sure why you'd give us this number. We went over and above for your job and although the guys added something that you didn't need, we didn't even charge you for it. And although we have the jobs paid for after the completion, you waited until the job was complete and needed credit! We extended your money owed for SIX months. We just don't feel that your 4 is stated in the correct way. Let us know how we can make it better. Enjoy your attic and your extension to pay. Sorry we didn't meet your expectations. Rick and Renee"
