Allowing Billy Raymer into our home was the worst mistake we ever made. Billy promised to send quality craftsmen to remodel our kitchen. Instead, his subcontractor, Galvez Works, LLC sent unlicensed handymen to do plumbing, electrical, gas, and construction work. Because unprofessional workers were sent to do the plumbing, our kitchen was flooded TWICE, ruining the wood floor, and then replaced with inferior product and inferior workmanship. After I payed two draws totaling over $27,000, they finally delivered part of the cabinets. The doors didn't fit, wouldn't open and the base cabinet for the sink wasn't large enough to hold the sink. Their remedy was the glue another piece to the cabinet so that they didn't have to redo the doors and it would be an "extension" of the cabinet to fill in the gap. While installing the cabinets, they broke the double oven and dented the refrigerator doors. The granite was cut incorrectly, the plumbing was installed incorrectly, the recessed lights have wiring issues, and they used outdated parts to reroute the gas. Nothing is compliant with the city codes and no building permits were acquired. B-Dal's was not paying his subcontractors. We had a meeting with B-Dal's and Galvez when Galvez threatened to walk off the job unless he received more money. Galvez knew what had been paid to B-Dal's but he told us that unless he was paid, he would place a lien on our home. They both said that I should make a final payment of over $15,000 and they would then complete all the work as 'warranty work'. This was after nine months of trying to work this out with them. So what kind of scam is it when you know your general contractor has been paid, isn't paying you but you continue to rack up a bill against the homeowner and then place a lien on the property? When we finally told them that we would find another contractor that could actually get the job done, they both threatened to place a lien on the property for non-payment. It has been almost a year and I still have an incomplete kitchen that is actually going to cost me almost as much as the original contract to right all the wrongs and be in compliance with codes. Plus, the subcontract placed a lien on the property for almost $14,000.
