Please grab your drink of choice and a snack because this is going to be a lengthy postâ ¦.I met the owner of AquaLuxe Luxury Pools in July 2022 and after spending many hours walking my property and coming up with a design plan and choosing materials, I signed a contract in August 2022. I am a big believer of supporting local businesses and the proprietor was a polite, eager, knowledgeable young man with many years of experience under his belt constructing pools and luxury backyard projects with other companies. He ventured out on his own in late 2020/early 2021 and had several pictures of projects to share. The benefit of hiring him was that he could do it allâ the pool, patio, fire pit area, landscaping, even an outdoor covered kitchen or pergola should I have wanted it. One stop, all inclusive shopping. The deadline listed in the contract for my somewhat extensive project was December 31, 2022. It is now August 3rd, 2023 and the project is not completed. Not only is it not completed, but it is literally only halfway done, without any end in sight, and the significant amount of money that he received from me is gone. Per the ownerâ s own admission, he has â mismanagedâ the financial side of his business and will not answer any of my questions about the remaining materials needed to complete the project that were paid for in full almost three months ago. I have given this young man chance after chance, have fed him dinner at my table and tried to offer guidance as someone who is very much an elder millennial and have some wisdom to share, all of which seems to have fallen on deaf ears. A few weeks ago, two separate vendors called my cell phone (I didnâ t provide them with my number) and then later showed up at my house to repossess materials and equipment that they had not been paid for yet by the owner. To date, I know at least one of the vendors is still out over ten thousand dollars from Aqualuxe Luxury Pools for my project specifically. The owner has stopped responding to my calls and texts and has, for all intents and purposes, abandoned my project and left me with a heck of a mess to deal with. And one that will cost an additional $40,000-$50,000 to correct his mistakes and to complete, per a separate pool company that visited this morning to provide an estimate. To say I am devastated is an understatement. Iâ ve been put in contact with several other homeowners the past few weeks in both Bryan and Chatham County who have experienced the same situation, or worse, providing a substantial deposit and then the owner disappears and doesnâ t step foot on their property again. When negative reviews are posted by said homeowners, the proprietor of AquaLuxe reaches out and promises the world if they remove it immediately, which many do. But not this lady. If the owner does eventually return my calls or if a miracle occurs and he shows up tomorrow to finish the project and uphold his end of the contract, I will be more than happy to post an update reflecting the outcome, but never will I remove the truth outlined in this post. If you are considering adding a pool or backyard oasis to your property, please choose ANY other company than AquaLuxe Luxury Pools. There are several homeowners who will concur with this statement and will be happy to share their experience if further reinforcement is needed to sway your decision. I wouldnâ t wish this experience on my ex-husband and that is saying a lot my friends!ð Any previous or current clients of AquaLuxe Luxury Pools who are interested in forming a support group, complete with matching t-shirts, is encouraged to message me. Iâ ll host it in the shell of my unfinished, frog-infested, concrete pool once a monthâ bring your own inflatable baby pool and potluck snacks to share with the group! Until thenâ ¦.any recommendations for trustworthy pool contractors eager for a challenge are welcomed and apprecia...
