"This lady was expecting us to "SQUASH" a $2,500.00 invoice for her to get a minor "leak" fixed that only cost her $400+ dollars to get her ceiling fixed. She returned one of our many calls checking on the status of payment and said she was calling regarding an invoice she received but she was using a completely different name. I told her I couldn't locate her invoice and would have to look into it and get back with her. NEVER did she correct me and give me the correct name the invoice/job was under. It is standard protocal for me to call customers who haven't paid their bills to inquire about payment (especially when it has been outstanding for MONTHS and was not receiving a response to the messages we had left) and then proceed to tell them to protect our rights to get paid that I must issue a NTO to preserve our rights. Never was I "rude" - she just took real offense to this. AND, I was trying to be nice (which you can't to some people like her) in telling her she didn't need to go through the hassell or expense of sending us a CD of pictures & mailing it certified - that we would take her word and she could just deduct the total of her repair bill from our invoice - boy did she turn this whole story around. And, to threaten us with mold issues???? No way could the short time frame from when we did the repair, to her getting her ceiling fixed, could mold issues occur. Sounds like someone trying to get something from nothing from the insurance companies. So sad some people are so miserable and dishonest in their life......."
"Thank you for taking care of your invoice. Our invoice states net due upon receipt - late fee if not paid within 10 days. We always try to call the customer to get status of payment 1st as we know there are sometimes situations come up that may require more time to pay, but our standard practice of procedure is if payment is not made within 30 days, we then send a notice to owner as state law only gives us 45 days from commencement to file this notice. Hope this clarifies what and why it happened like it did! Thank you!"
