BK some of the best people I’ve worked with to date- DOZENS of projects, never used the same contractor as no one seemed to be as fair, clean, and respectable.

Hired B and K to do a total bathroom gut and remodel - It was contracted to take 15 days. We fired them on WEEK 9! They repeatedly did not show up or would show up late and **work** for only an hour or two. They installed the shower tile crooked and proceeded to tell me 9 out of 10 home-owners would not care it was crooked. Holes were put in new walls, doors were installed crooked, brand new light fixtures were scratched and incorrectly installed, grout dumped down the new sink and toilet; the list goes on. I wish I could upload pictures. We paid them thousands of dollars to do a professional job and wanted it done correctly. B and K could not uphold their side of the contract, so we fired them. B and K did not provide any materials and made up reasons to continue to charge extras that were in the original contract. Kip has a terrible attitude, quality of work, and lack of job completion. After firing them, B and K tried taking us to court to pay for the complete contract - the contract they did not complete or provide materials for. The judge told them they would not be being paid for being fired and work they did not complete, they lost the case. They are a hot mess. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE!

B and K Residential was hired by myself to repair damage from a small fire I had at my residence. Several contracts and change orders were involved due to the amount of work to be done. They put in a new bath, kitchen, renovated the den area, as well as door, ceiling fan, light installs, wire runs, etc. Hardwood floor and door installs as well. 2 days after the job was completed, I noticed water leaking from the sink. Upon further examination, extremely shoddy workmanship at the disposal flange and strainer attached to the sink. I had to pay someone else to have that fixed, 3 days after the repairs were completed. B and K Residential also totally screwed my hardwood floors. They looked so bad when he finished that I had to contract someone else to repair his incompetence. This company (B and Residential) totally ruined my front door, cutting into the structural load bearing members on each side of the door (side jambs), and sawed a portion of the upper head jamb off with a reciprocating saw. This side jamb was COMPLETELY cut in half, and you can see where B and K Residential sawed THROUGH the live wire going to the living room light switch. They KNEW I just had a fire, and left it that way. He had his money and was gone. Prior to starting repairs, I gave them the drawings for both the new front door and storm door, complete with schematic diagrams and dimensions. He said no problem. About 2 weeks after they finished, the door would not even close, and the opening was not even framed for the storm door in which he was to install. Everything... BRAND NEW. Check was paid, he was gone, and when I found out the door did not close, B and K Residential would not return phone calls, e-mails, texts, or anything else. The repairs to fix the damaged door frame and successfully install the door and storm door were approximately $2,000.00. I had already paid B and K Residential $1400.00 for the bogus installation. The contractor that repaired the door had to replace the upper jamb, both side jambs, and perform drywall repairs said the door was installed with ONLY (and I verified this on site), 3 screws. 2 in the hinge side and just 1 lonely fastener in the latch side. No small wonder it came loose within a week! ANYONE who wanted to could have lowered their shoulder and shoved the door AND jambs on top of whoever was looking out the door (looking out from the inside). The agreement was they would come back and fix anything not satisfactory after being paid the last payment. This company never gave me any notion they would not honor these contracts. The payments were doled out for the next phase of the projects in advance as we went, and they always fulfilled their contractual obligations. In summary, as soon as the door closed and B and K Residential departed my residence, towel bars started falling off the walls in the bathroom, kitchen sink leaked all over the lower KITCHEN cabinets and floor, washer dryer were installed UNEVEN, washer being 1 inch lower than matching dryer, dishwasher not installed properly, and install NOT COMPLETE, got a look at the freshly completed hardwood floors, had to be completely redone. They never even showed up to install the storm door, which had been PAID IN FULL. The original tub re-glaze project B and K Residential performed also went very bad and the glaze started chipping almost immediately and all the hardware for tub stopper was left on counter. I tried to take B and K Residential to court, and seek damages, but after 2 separate attempts, and 2 notices that went **un-found** and **un-served** upon delivery attempts at the contractors address, the Norfolk Sheriff could not locate B and K Residential and the notices were returned to me as **UNCLAIMED** after 3 attempts. So much for the 2-year warranty on the B and K Residential repairs. Too bad this site will not allow pictures. You would be amazed!

Great work by B&K, Highly recommend them. Very pleased with the work performed (bathroom remodel). Pleasure working with the whole team (Kip, Debbie, Joe and Andy). I will definitely use them again and have already recommended them to several friends. Thanks to the whole team!!

Have some hidden cost money set aside from cost of contract The building of a 12"X 24 addition the remolding of kitchen &a room up-grade.by B & K contractors Thanks Kip,Debbie,Joe,&Arron.

Have money available for hidden cost,and take time to review contract after contractor"s made final notes and reviews.B & K are outstanding people to work with.Thanks Kip,Debbie,Joe,&Arron.

Helped me refine my requirements so the project cost came within my budget.

The project was top notch. Not only did they consistently show up on time, but they worked in every aspect to finish the job in a timely manner. Working with Debbie who ran around looking for fixtures and etc, for me was very very very helpful. Barry/KIP was at my house on time with his crew as well as the Plumber Dave Nagg and Tile Artist Ramsey. I have other project that I will need in the future and I will be calling them in the coming years. This was finally one of those hire someone to do the job and get the service that they promised and what you have paid for. Would reccommend this company to everyone.

Project took longer than estimated, but work was of a good quality, Owner was very nice. Some of workers seemed to not apply themselves well, but were very pleasant and seemed grateful for the coffee and drinks I supplied them each day. When the workers reinstalled my dishwasher and it did not work, I called the owner and he was here within minutes and corrected the problem.

i hired stephens builders.they did a great job and i am totally happy with the result. thank you so much for your great help.
