I asked to finish a room in the basement and move a door. Basically, just make it look okay. We drew up some specs and they gave me a quote ~$1500 less than other quotes so I went with BT. The only hiccup was that the project took a day longer than estimated.

BT Construction removed our old, cracked plaster kitchen ceiling and replaced it with drywall (and insulation) and repainted. Also, did a wonderful job on the bathroom remodel. The work was completed on time and without any issues. I will definitely use them again.

The job included remodel of two bathrooms, installation of a kitchenette (including plumbing), installation of outdoor light/electricity and installation of an outdoor pathway. Pros - Small things that were not on the work order were floorboards were glued down. - Resulting tile work was done very nicely in two bathrooms. - Drywall patching was done well. - Owner checked on project almost daily and was very friendly. - Most items were eventually fixed when errors were pointed out (see cons for errors). Cons - On many items, but not all, had to convince contractor to fix items. Not all items were corrected. - Had to stay on top of work constantly for items such as • The stairs for pathway that was put in is sloped at an angle so that you are walking downhill and having to step down. This was partially remedied for a couple steps. The majority of steps remain improperly installed as there are approximately ½ the number of stairs needed to cover the slope at the agreed upon 4 inch drop per step. I was told the project was over budget and it was due to settling of the earth as it snowed a couple inches. There were also several problems with the rocks agreed to be placed. I compromised through complaints of replacing rock again agreeing to leave bottom layer of the incorrect rock and covering with a layer of the correct rock. I thought this was remedied when they were put in but turned out the agreed upon black rocks were still medium light grey. I was fooled as they were wet when they were placed. I realize I should not have paid the balance for this portion of the work until it was corrected with reasonable quality and as agreed upon. • Paid over $500 extra for ceramic/tile base in shower and they tried to install fiberglass base. • Paid for replacement of drywall and they weren’t going to replace it. • Paid to have rotted boards to be replaced in door jam and only part of rotted boards replaced. • Two cabinet doors were put on backwards, one of them could not be opened at all. • Crown molding had a gap and did not fit over cabinets. Also had raw cut in the middle of molding that looked like a gash. • Shelf backing place which had large gaps and cheap jagged veneer was placed on fronting of shelf. • Rug was torn up (this was only remedied by cutting resulting loose threads. Rug remains damaged). Also rug left soaked overnight during plumbing work. Was very visible and concerning in a basement prone to mold. • They were going to install tile other than the agreed upon tile because they couldn’t find the tile we agreed upon. • Creative license was taken with placing floor tile in wall niche without discussing. • There was no indication beforehand that shower floor tile had to be a different size than the wall tile and the contractor was responsible for the tile in that bathroom. At the last minute I had to purchase what tile could be found in the same color family. There was limited choice an

The gentleman who did the inspection for me was very knowledgeable and very polite. He was on time and got the report to me the next day. I would definitely use this company again.
