Our deck was old and very much in need of replacement. We had purchased a hot tub about 18 months ago, but couldnâ t take delivery because our old deck wouldnâ t support it. Rick and his crew took out the old deck, took our ideas and created an extremely sturdy deck that not only supports the hot tub, but came out exactly as we had imagined! We also have large dogs that we wanted to keep off the deck, so Rick fashioned a gate specifically for our needs. His crew was quick and professional, and the entire thing was completed in approximately 3 weeks. We could not be happier!

After meeting with a few contractors for my deck removal and screened room addition Rick was by far the most professional contractor/builder to show up. From the estimate until the last day of work was completed he was always on time and available. His customer service is second to none! He and his guys were all on time daily, cleaned up at the end of every day and built the screen room I had dreamed of for several years. March 1, 2021 Jarrett & Christie C. My wife and I had Rick come to our home to build a fireplace mantle and box for a propane fireplace set we purchased from Sothern Hearth & Patio. We immediately felt comfortable with Rick as he is such a downhome guy. As he explained how he would go about building our fireplace, because we honestly were at a loss as to exactly what we wanted the whole fireplace look like, Rick came up with several ideas. We settled on one that truthfully was quite elaborate. Rick showed up on time every day and was very meticulous in his work, He took care to manage his tools so as not to damage anything as he built us an extension/wall to an existing wall to accommodate the firebox size which was 47"Wx35"Hx18"D. As he proceeded with building the fireplace he explained every step and asked us for our thoughts or decisions on some areas pertaining to what we wanted. Rick is extremely careful to give the customer what they want. His craftmanship is the best I have seen in ages, Rick is truly an artist. We will not hesitate to call on him for any type of building, from scratch, to any size remolding job. Rick is number one in our book. Home Made Construction made my Deck perfectly, Not only did they consistently show up on time, but they finished the project earlier than expected. I tried several people from Loweâ s suggested list and couldnâ t even get them to show up for an appointment. We discovered Home Made Construction, LLC through an advertisement on Facebook after several other companies had given us bids on the job. After several meetings and discussions with owner Rick Hockenberry we decided to move forward with his bid. Throughout the planning process Rick was very detail oriented and responsive to my questions. Once we were on schedule for install the lumber was delivered and construction began immediately after. Within a week the deck was 80% complete and despite a few rain delays our project was completed shortly after. I would recommend Home Made Construction to anyone who wants a quality deck built for an honest price. Rick’s attention to detail and customer service is top notch! We’re very pleased with the final product and we would choose Home Made Construction again if we needed any other decks built.

Rick, the owner, used to work for me in Dallas, TX. He was responsible for framing, all carpentry and assisted in managing our jobs, overseeing other subs and helped design as well. Rick was an intrigual part of my business and when he moved to TN, my company took a huge blow. I am still trying to replace a quarter of his knowledge and commitment. He spoiled me and made my company shine for my home owners. He will work on your property as if it were his mom's. He will do the work right the first time. He measures 10 times and cuts once. His skills and knowledge of the residential construction industry is unmatched and extremely missed in TX. If you are weighing your options, remember you get what you pay for. Price is important, but the important things to keep in mind are integrity, commitment, reliability, experience, honesty and most important trustworthy. Rick maintains all of those characteristics. He brought a lot toy company, and much of which I still try to put in affect on each and every job. You guys are blessed to have him.

We wanted a fireplace built in our living room and Mr. Hockenberry came highly recommended. He took an old fake gas log piece out that was already there and removed it and constructed from scratch an entirely new fireplace, beautiful mantle,redid the entire wall a left us with a gorgeous fireplace. He was on time everyday,worked out a design for us cleaned up every day and was a pleasure to work with. The price was less than you might imagine.

Mr. Hockenberry was very knowledgeable and helpful with our project. He arrived when he said he would and when the job was finished, he didnâ  t leave a mess. In fact, you only knew he had been there was the beautiful work he had completed. Very efficient, honest and very reasonable fee for the craftsmanship and quality of work he did for us. Would highly recommend for any home improvement project.

We love the deck and covered patio Rick, and his crew built for us. From the start, with the quote appointment, Rick was on time and professional. His guys were courteous and cleaned up at the end of each day. And the quality is beyond excellent. We have spent everyday on it. It makes out yard feel like a vacation.
