Car trouble prevented Brian from finishing the work the first day. Came back two days later to finish. Reasonable to work with, friendly, had good ideas, skilled worker, excellent clean-up.

The project was removing an old wood fence and installing new vinyl fence. I was obligated to help the handyman to finish the work within the schedule he specified. He was paid in full but the work is not complete....

He is a fair handyman to hire & he knows what he is doing. just about anything you throw at him he has a good solution for.

I hired Brian to paint the interior of my condo and yes he was nice and polite, at least at first, but his work was so bad after the first day, I could not let him finish the job. His price was lower than others, which made me curious, but he said that he was new to the area and offering lower prices to build his business. We discussed that I was very concerned with quality and wanted him to take the time to do an excellent job. He said that he was very concerned with quality, so he understood. A few days before the job was scheduled to start, I asked for the written quote and a copy of his insurance. On the first day, he did not show up with either. He said that no one ever asks for a quote or written copy of the work to be done andnthat his insurance had expired. He asked that if he could get his "staff" started, he would go back to his office, renew his insurance and send me the copy that morning. I should have not let him proceed with the work, but he seemed so nice, I trusted that he would send me the information as promised. I never received either. After the first day's work, I realize why his quote was cheaper than others. Paint from the walls was over painted all over my crown molding and door frames. There were multiple areas where the paint is un-even or not covering at all. The walls have roller marks all over the place. Also, paint was dripped or bled from the floor molding onto my new wood floors.I had two neighbors come look at the work to calibrate my expectations and they both thought the work was sub-par and very bad. I met with Brian the next morning to allow him to explain and provide a plan to fix the problems. Brian said that he does not use painters tape. He said that tape was very expensive, that he always just paints by freehand. He planned to SCRAPE off the over painting. I was horrified to think that the plan was potentially damage my molding to save expense. Too my surprise, Brian's plan for the areas uneven or not covered was just to touch up those areas, rather than use two coats. No quality painter uses just one coat of paint. Only a second coat of paint will fix all the roller marks. When I asked him to do the job right and apply two coats of paint and tape off the different paint areas, he said that he would have to ask for a lot more money. I told Brian that based on the poor quality of work and no plan to take accountability to do the work properly, I could not allow him to continue. Since I paid for the paint myself and half his fee upfront, I was out a lot of money. Now I have to hire someone else to complete the job AND fix Brian's mistakes which will cost me a lot more. I should have been suspicious when he talked about all his "bad" clients. He asked me not to write a review, but I realized that if his "bad" clients wrote reviews, maybe I would not be in the mess that I am in right now.
