If you don't want snow to unexpectedly slide off of your roof, you need a well textured surface of bar tile or need to have snow stoppers installed at the time of installation; if not it can be dangerous. You also need to know that whaps and bees can nest in crevices of your roof. Over all Bartile Roofs is a great company, they offer great work, and their people are also great; they have integrity.

The bar tile breaks very easy not sure how long it will last 75 years I don't think so if the material is not made right will crumble in a few years I read the fine print on the warranty they don't stand by there product for 75 years. If something goes wrong like water leaks they are not liable. To me that's not a good warranty.
Response from Company:
Bartile as a manufacturer only warranties the tile itself. The installer is the company that warranties against leaks. The lightweight tile is more prone to breakage but we have been making it for over 40 years and it has held up to the test of time. The standard weight tile is very strong and we have been making that for over 75 years and have hundreds of roofs that are still around after 75 years.
