Concrete Foundation Raise

During the project, Groundworks San Jose damaged my front deck requiring me to hire a contractor to replace 2 ea 20 foot damaged redwood boards, sand and restain the entire deck. They also damaged 1 of the 3 sprinkler control units, and left concrete footprints along the walkway in my backyard. On January 2, 2026, Everett Hamilton, Operations Manager at Groundworks San Jose, left me a text stating he would address my issues. To date, he has not responded to my text reply. or phone calls. On February 18, 2026, Groundworks sent their inspector, Nick, to review the work done in November and previous work done a year ago. Nick suggested the Groundworks inject poly in piers 14, 15 and 16 as those piers were not sealed properly and may be the cause for rats entering my subfloor crawl space as evidenced by the abundance or rat droppings. Nick also suggested that the front driveway needed to be re-lifted (from work done by Groundworks one year earlier) as it was causing a trip hazard.

Do not contact this company, and do not be misled by their professional appearance. The quality of their work is poor, and their follow-up warranty service is virtually nonexistent. I had major foundation repair work completed by EagleLift (now part of Groundworks) in 2023. The project included underpinning the perimeter foundation with more than 20 push piers and replacing approximately 50 crawl-space posts. Problems began on day one. Even after this costly repair, several areas of the house remained unlevel. EagleLift attempted to correct the issue but was unable to do so. The situation worsened after EagleLift became part of Groundworks. Groundworks has failed to respond to my service requests, despite my 25-year warranty being part of the contract. As a result, I had to spend additional time and money to completely replace the portion of the foundation where the issues were most severe. Other areas that were repaired by Groundworks still have unresolved problems, and I have receiv

Concrete Foundation Raise
The Groundworks folks (formerly Bay Area Underpinning) applied their foundation-underpinning technology and expertise to extend to bedrock, level, square up the foundation for an extensive house remodel. I was most impressed by the young man onsite supervisor, Josh who answered all my work done, how and why questions. I wish this info was provided up front by the estimator. (My design-build remodel contractor referred this company).

Groundwork’s did an amazing job. Our home was settling and they were able to lift it. The process was quick and all employees from sales to crew were all very professional.

Local businesses recently purchased by groundworks, now never answer phone, don't respond to questions/service/warranty. Absolutely do not use them. All sales, poor delivery/support. Untrustworthy warranty. Seems like Sunpower collapse all over again.
