I believe they are scam artists. Once down payment was made they no longer responded to phone calls or emails. Did not respond to HomeAdvisor calls or emails. They are missing in action, with the money!

We looked at all the reviews before hiring Jeremy to do the work after receiving 3 estimates. There were several negative reviews but understand that some people are hard to please. However, in hind sight, I wish we had made a different decision. We hired Jeremy in early July to extend our driveway with matching pavers. We paid half the price as a deposit. We had to constantly call to get an update on when they would start the work. After several calls, his crew showed up on August 13 with pavers that did not even come close to matching the current pavers. I talked to Jeremy and one of his crew left with the pavers; two men stayed to dig up a tree root but left after a few hours and only showed up the next morning to retrieve tools they left. After more calls (never returned) and finally a text from my husband letting him know he was fired, he returned the call to say he had a family emergency. So we agreed to give him more time to move past that and get back to work. We subsequently called numerous times and could not leave a message because the voicemail was full. It is now early November and we have still not heard anything from the company or Jeremy to discuss our project or to discuss any kind of refund on what we had paid already. We have been extremely patient but this is the most unprofessional company we have ever worked with. I would never recommend hiring them for a project.

Interlocking Pavers for Driveways & Floors Installation
I called Bay County Concrete And Construction out to give me an estimate on extending our driveway with concrete. Jeremy Warren showed up a couple of days later and seemed like a professional young man that would be our go-to guy for this project. On July 27th I went forward with the company and put down $1250 as a 50% deposit payment. He said they were four weeks out from being able to get around to our project. Two weeks later I tried to contact him to let him know I would be out of town the following couple of weeks, I could not get him on the phone after several tries, and received no response to my texts. It was kind of a red flag. After I got back in town I attempted to call him again with no answer. I text him asking how far out we were on the project, and when I should expect someone to come out and start working, no response. Another month goes by me trying to get him on the phone. I text him and let him know I was not trying to rush him on the project but just wanted to be reassured I was on his register, as we had already paid him a $1250 deposit. No response. I eventually figured I would set up another account in my wifes name to fabricate a paver project in the hopes of getting him on the phone to arrange another estimate. No surprise that that actually worked and he answered the phone (seeing as we were a new client he could collect another deposit from). It was not until my wife told him we were actually a client that had already signed a contract with him that he told us he had had a family emergency and would contact us that following Monday about our scheduling. Another month goes by of me trying to get ahold of him. I text him and said hey please just give me any kind of response to let me know you did not scam me out of my deposit. No response. I text again and said if you are going to be unable to complete our project please just refund our deposit. No response. After giving him the benefit of the doubt over and over again, I finally decided to place a complaint with home advisor. They told me the first thing they would do would be to reach out to him to see if a settlement could be reached. He answered them of course and told them he would mail our refund out that day and we would have it the following week. That was October 22nd. Two weeks went by and I reached out to home advisor again who formally assigned a complaint agent to our case and attempted to contact him. Our agent called me on the 6th of November and informed me he said he was unsure whether or not we wanted him to still complete the job or receive a refund. To which the agent said we had clearly said we wanted our deposit back two weeks ago, which he agreed to. So he said, once again, he would mail the check by Friday and we would receive it the following week. Well now its November 19th and we still have not received our deposit back from him. And of course, our agent is now out of town until next week. This has been an absolute nightmare situation that I would not wish on my worst enemy. UPDATE: I changed my review from .5 to 3 stars only because we were finally able to get our deposit back. I think 3 stars is very generous seeing as we wasted around four months just trying to get the company on the phone/get our deposit back. This whole time we could have been on the books with another company that would have actually come and done the work.

The company is unreliable. Never finished the job after 89 days of waiting. They left broken retention, uneven and sagging pavers, holes without pavers, and debris all over the yard. They even tried to make up lies to get the final payment. Seedy and unprofessional. Would never recommend them to an enemy. The worst experience I have ever had with any company. Do not pay them their final payment until you see what the rain does. My pavers got washed out and they would not fix them. Dishonest company full of excuses. They may deliver the work someday, but at 89 days that has not happened.

I hired them to do three jobs: This is a review of the second job, which is still incomplete. READ BOTTOM LINE: they never finished the job. They did not stand behind their work and did not honor their warranty, The job (457) they started is still incomplete, and my yard has debris that they never cleaned up. Their responses to date are full of excuses and focus on personal attacks. Their responses do not address the documented poor craftsmanship, nor the months that it has taken them to fix problems or finish the work. In short, they are long on words and short on delivery. You can read their response to the first job and find that the owner is unprofessional, levies personal attacks, cannot focus on finishing the job, and is excuse-ridden. DETAILS: I hired them to do three jobs: This is a review of the second job, which is still incomplete. contract started finished #ofdays-to-completion 1. driveway #457 1jun20 9aug20 69 days 2. pullouts #465 6jun20 not 71 days and counting: incomplete 3. patio #494 22jun20 9aug20 89 days As you can see the time to complete the jobs has been excessive, which is a result of shoddy work. Job#2 pullouts were added to the job because the company did not understand that to put in a driveway with a garage, pullouts were needed to back out vehicles. Once these pavers were put in they three inches above grade which caused them to be undermined by the rain, resulting in uneven bricks and a broken retention barriers which is compromising the integrity of the driveway (the first job they did). It appears the company put its effort into providing excuses for their shoddy work and not into doing the job right. That should be enough to tell you to be wary of this company. RECOMMENDATION: If you hire them, do NOT pay them until a few weeks after the job is said to be complete, to ensure that they fix the problems of their poor work. In my case, I hired them in June and it is September (the work is still incomplete). Yes, they have been out about at least seven times to fix things (three times for the patio step alone), but their work was so shoddy, that effort has not been enough to get the initial job fixed. EXPECTATION: They will provide more lame excuses on why they have not (1) finished the job, (2) backed their warranty, and (3) taken their time to do the job right.
Response from Bay County Concrete & Construction
"Hi Wayne, we apologize for your frustration on your experience with Bay County Concrete. We do our best to walk away from each job with a happy and satisfied customer. Unfortunately, It isn?t always possible as is evidence in this case. The first day my crew arrives start the work, your comment ?Don?t you have a white crew?? should be a red flag for me to perform your job, I am sorry that my foreman is not matching your ethnicity requirement as the first place but he did this for the last over 30 years and when the first phase complete you paid us in full and started add more work. If you weren?t happy with the first phase how can you keep moving on with us? When my crew left job site to get sand, to grab lunch I constantly get phone call from you to ask me why they are not on the jobsite, but as same human being like you they work in humid weather they need water, supplies, while you sit in your cooling house monitor my crew and point out what should be done in the right way as on the youtube. After we walk through the project and designed the work under your supervision you still changed your mind multiple times, shortly after the job done you were complaining the fountain you wanted to put there left little room for your truck to turn around but all we did was under your supervision. The second phase we did not even collect deposit from you as you had already paid in full for the first phase as a good faith, and then we just want to get this job over and collect the payment from you we agree to add one steps and 14 more square feet for you with NO COSTING, just trying to satisfying your need, Unfortunately, those 14 square foot we don?t have extra pavers for the job, unless I order a whole pallet again. Of course you don?t want to pay for a whole pallet of paver for those 14 square feet that we add on for no costing. Sorry for you to wait for two weeks and we came over to complete your job. But those add on works and non-completion job you mentioned wasn?t in the contract. Its just we were trying to satisfying you and to get us paid as soon as possible so that we agree to add on for free. In the end you were saying that you over paid me on the jobs and we did not even get paid in full as of today. You singed the contract and trying to replace the number with the lower one you did not singed is even a more example to show how much you were trying to not pay for the complete beautiful job. I don?t mind to hire a professional to evaluate the work quality, my crew did this for the last 30 years and have a lot beautiful project and yours is one of them. But I am sorry that they came from Brazil and yes they are not white. So my respond is 1. Poor quality? If that?s the case why you want to add more works with us after we finished the first phase? And you have never mentioned to me about the cracks and grade issue, your biggest complain was your truck doesn?t have big turning space due to the fountain you originally wanted there. Also based on how particular you are and how micro management your are towards to me and my crew you have never mentioned to me the chiped edge of the paves along with other isuue. 2. Incomplete? The incomplete portion is due to trying to satisfying your need and to collect the balance for us we agree to add more work for free and during the waiting period I need to get the paver and also avoid rain. As now the job is completed, but we still not receive the final payment yet. 3. Unprofessional? At first I patiently receive any phone call from you by you trying to monitor any action my crew made and answer your question why this should not be performed by the way you wanted, I think us over 30 years experiences cannot beat your several days Youtube experience? You kick us off your property while we are doing the right work is that your professional to handle issue as well. As a business owner to run my business is not only provide my own family but"

Jeremy Warren (owner) started out quite professional, gave a good bid. So, I hired him and gave a 4k dollar deposit over 2 weeks ago. Will not return calls, emails, or texts. The pavers came in, not paid for. Taking legal steps next! UPDATE 5/14/2020: After 6 weeks of b*, his ex-wife called and refunded my deposit. I thanked her so much for doing what is right... Still, I would not recommend this company!

They showed up when they said and did a good job but failed to haul off their construction debris. I have physical moved the debris off of my grass to the drive way but now it makes it hard to park. I am trying to find someone to haul it to the landfill.
