A 1971 electrical circuit panel needed to be updated and reconfigured. Beacon installed a new, generator-ready panel in preparation for a whole house generator. Additionally, the old panel was maxed out and did not allow for any additional circuits. The new panel gives us room to increase our capacity by an extra 3 circuits. The installer came out for the initial inspection and arrived on time. <br />

The two hour inspection was thorough and comprehensive. All my questions were answered. Recommendations were made on minor repairs/maintenance. A detailed itemized estimate was sent by email within 24 hours. I purchased the optional whole-house surge protector and the elec panel maintenance service. I scheduled the work for 3 weeks out. It was done and I'm satisfied with the results..The total cost was about $450. <br />

I was very impressed with Steve from Beacon. I took my chances with an Angie's List big deal, and I am very happy with the results. I had hired Beacon for 2 hours, and I gave Steve a list of things that I needed him to do. He was so quick and efficient that he completed the list in less than 2 hours. I wish now that I had a longer list! I got my money's worth, so I can't complain. I have been looking for a reliable electrician, and I will definitely use Beacon in the future.

Beacon Electrical Services was very good. I bought an extra back-up power surge and I think they charged me too much. They're really thorough. The only thing that concerns me was the price they charged me for the power surge thing unit, it was $108 and I went online and I saw that it was much lower, that was my only issue. They're very professional. Maybe I will use them in the future, I don't know. I used them because of Angie's List. The reason I'm saying B was because when they put the surge unit, they did a poor job and I have to tell them to c*** it, they didn't even do the cocking and they just coked it very poorly. No, I won't use them again.

Concerned that our handyman did not grasp our electrical problem, I joined Angie's List to find a reliable electrician. Beacon looked like a great company, so I called and set up a troubleshooting appointment. They contacted me to confirm the appointment. They also called the night before to confirm, and the exectrician called when he was on the way. He checked the problem, determined what was wrong and then at my request went on to fix the circuit. There were multiple bad connections. After he left, another problem with the same circuit occurred. He returned to complete the repair at no charge. The technician was completely professional and friendly. I would definitely recommend Beacon and use them again. <br />

It was an Angie's List Big Deal that I purchased. It was okay. It was for 2 hours of labor. He was done fairly quickly so he asked for more things to look at. They were honest and professional. He came right on time. He gave me a call before coming. Everything went well. The price for the Big Deal was reasonable.

Very friendly, cleaned up after job done. Walked me through the process and afterwards showed me the panel and what was done. Provided an estimate invoice before job was started. Sent me a completed invoice for my records. Suggested other electrical work for the house that should be considered, but no pressure at all. <br />

I bought their Big Deal. It was alright. It was not an issue for them to come but they could not do what I wanted them to do. They seemed to be fine. I have bought deals before, not from Angie’s List, and my personal opinion is that it is always something else that they cannot do and I kind of felt that this was the same thing with them; they could not do the pendant lights but when I called another electrician, he was able to do it in a matter of five minutes. He added a little bracket to the can and he was able to hang it so it was not that big of a deal. I was not really pleased with that whole thing. What they did was fine but what I wanted them to do, I think if they had a little more ingenuity, they could have figured it out.

The contractor came out on the day scheduled and reviewed my electrical system. He determined that the breaker box was not to code and at my request, was to provide a quote to replace the breaker box and add a transfer panel so I could hook a generator to my breaker box. After a week I did not receive an estimate so I called the company to let them know. The person who answered the phone said she would contact the man who did the estimate. A week later I called them back to let them know I still did not receive the estimate. Later that day I received a call from the man who did the estimate to say that he had the wrong email address and would send it to me that day, which he did do.While I was waiting for the estimate to come in I requested an estimate from a different company. The second company's estimate was about $2,000 less and actually took care of another issue with the electrical system that was not included in the estimate from Beacon Electrical. I went with the other company to get the work done so I cannot attest to the work of Beacon Electrical, only the price. Everyone I interacted with was very polite and had the price been more in line with the other company I probably would have had them do the work. <br />

I got a courtesy call the day before to confirm my appointment, and let me know what time the electricians were supposed to arrive. They came promptly at the time that they were meant to come. At first, the basement was supposed to get six recessed lights, but the electrician Steven said that was a bit much and recommended four. I was happy about that because it showed how honest he was. I told them that I wanted the outlets checked in the bathroom, and they did that as well. <br /> When I got back, I didn't recognize the place. The basement was bright, and the recessed lights were very nice. They only made two holes, which I was happy about. The kitchen impressed me even more. They used put recessed lights on the holes left over from the hideous light fixtures that we took down before they arrived, so there was minimal damage the ceiling. <br /> Overall, I was very impressed. They did an amazing job, and honest on top of that. Definitely would recommend them.

We found Beacon Electrical Services on Angie's List and contacted them on Sunday for an appointment on the following Tuesday. Dee, the scheduler, was most professional in arranging our desired time slot. Jesse promptly showed up within 1/2 hour of the start time of a four hour time slot. <br /> Jesse performed a very comprehensive inspection of our home, which was built in 1985. He developed a list of several recommended repairs and other steps that would update our electrical system and make it safer, more modern code compliant, and more reliable. In addition, he rapidly discovered an outlet that had arced and melted. He replaced the outlet and restored power to a portion of the house that was previously inoperable. <br /> Prior to arranging the inspection, we took advantage of Angie's $99 coupon for Beacon's whole house inspection. The entire inspection and repair cost $183. Jesse provided a very detailed estimate and breakdown for the other work that we will likely perform in the future. In addition, he recommended that we upgrade our fire alarm system using interconnected detectors that he specifically recommended we purchase on our own. Thanks to Beacon, our home is now fully functional from an electrical perspective. It is also safer. <br /> Beacon Electrical Services has earned our respect and trust. They will be our first call for future electrical work. <br />

They found some areas I had work done by another electrical company that wasn't up to code inside the circuit breaker box, so I had the other company come back to fix it. If it wasn't for Beacons we wouldn't have known about the shoddy work done by the other company. They were very thorough and were on time and very professional. They did a great job on installing my Chandelier. They were very careful and it looks great.
