Bear Mountain Custom Painting

We recently received a quote from Bear Mountain Custom Painting for both interior and exterior painting, as well as for replacing several windows and a door. From the start, our salesperson was incredibly thorough and well informed. They took the time to walk us through every part of the project, clearly explaining what needed to be done, how the work would be carried out, and provided a realistic timeline for when everything could be scheduled. We really appreciated their attention to detail and straightforward communication. It gave us confidence in their expertise and made the whole process easy to understand. Subject: Unpleasant Experience with Bear Mountain Painting Company I am writing to share my recent experience with Bear Mountain Painting Company, and unfortunately, it has been quite disappointing. When I initially contacted the company to inquire about deck stain and rotten wood replacement, they sent their Sales representative, Devin, to assess the situation. During the survey, I expressed that I was not certain about the extent of wood replacement required, but I wanted all the rotten wood to be replaced and the deck to be stained. Devin later stated that 18 pieces of wood needed replacement, and I agreed to move forward with the project. However, on the day of the work, I was shocked when Riley, the project in-charge, informed me that they had only accounted for 11 pieces in the quote. He claimed that they found an additional 16 pieces of rotten wood that required replacement. This inconsistency in the initial quote raised concerns for me. It made me question whether Bear Mountain Painting has a lack of accurate estimations or if they intentionally provide lower quotes initially to lure customers in, only to charge more later on. When I reached out to Zach for clarification and resolution, I felt that my concerns were not adequately addressed, leaving me feeling frustrated with the overall experience. As a result, I am determined not to work with Bear Mountain Painting Company again in the future. I believe clear communication and accurate estimates are essential in any business transaction, and unfortunately, my experience with Bear Mountain Painting did not meet these expectations. We do not normally post reviews good or bad, but felt the need to do so in this situation. Bear Mountain Custom Painting performed a complete (ceilings, trim, walls, doors) interior job for us in June of 2020. (Our home was 6 years old at the time.) We were dissatisfied with the company*s workmanship that was, in our opinion, of very poor quality. Upon contacting the owner, he immediately blamed the issues on the house settling prior to even viewing the issues. When he actually did visit our home several weeks later, he again stated that any issues were due to the house settling. When inquiring about his 36-month workmanship warranty, he claimed that he determined the workmanship was of good quality and we had waited too long to contact the company. We filed a BBB complaint which was answered with many contradictions. The BBB complaint was considered *resolved* simply because the owner responded to our complaint. We had no recourse but to file in civil court to try to recoup some of our losses. We won our case in civil court. The owner immediately appealed to state court. We reached out to the owner with an attempt to settle prior to state court with no success. We had no recourse but to hire an attorney to represent us in state court and are awaiting a trial date. Pictures have been shared with the owner via email and then again in civil court. The attached pictures are just a few among many and speak for themselves.

I hired Bear Mountain in November of 2020 to install 8 doors and put in about 8 feet of shiplap. They ended up installing mismatched doors b/c they were not able to find matching doors for my project which they thought was acceptable. They thought I would not notice but I did. I insisted that all of the doors be the same and when the owner could not produce them he insisted on full payment of the contract. I refused to pay the the full amount for work that was not completed. I gave him 6 months and the job was still incomplete. He never installed the corrected doors, or all of the door knobs and paint. I sold my house in July 2021 and found out that he put A LIEN on my house for the full amount plus late fees even though I have communications with him that the job is not complete so I had to pay him in order to sell my house. This is who you are dealing with folks. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY. Do yourself a favor. There are lots of other moral contractors out there. I wish we could attach documents to these reviews.

Highly recommend! Great communication, helpful and friendly. Workers were skilled, honest, punctual and polite. Will use them for our next project.

The painters, the ones who are actually did the job, were first class! Very meticulous as to painting and carpentry. I appreciate that the contract spelled everything out to prevent confusion. Painters finished our large house in 7 days. The administration was very good in ironing out any questions or problems. The quote for the job was reasonable and medium in price with the quotes we received. I would recommend Bear Mountain highly.

I can't say enough good things about this company! If I could give 10 stars, I would! The receptionist, Megan, was so accommodating, and made me happy, that I made the call requesting their service. Robb, well, I can't possibly explain how helpful he has been! He is always available, even visited the proposed work site, my home, on a Sunday! He has constantly monitored the job site, and answered all my questions. The crew is amazing! They started this morning, and worked a full day without stopping. I had a horrible experience with a contractor, who has taken 3 months to built my screen porch, and taken advantage of me. I feel like everything is going to turn out good, only because of Bear Mountain! It pays to investigate a company, and go by their reviews. You know its an outstanding company when someone takes the time to write a good review! I would give them 100 stars if I could. Their pricing is great, and so far, everyone has been nothing short of being 100% professional! I am going to let them do my whole house next!

If you are looking for a company that has excellent communication skills, is professional, and very detail oriented, then this is the company for you. I was continually impressed with their attention to detail. Luis and Osbian were consummate professionals. They maintained a clean work environment, identified daily goals at the beginning of their shift, and reviewed the progress made at the end of the shift. They arrived on time and worked diligently throughout the entire day. The Project Managers were frequently on site to support their crew and to check in to make sure we didn't have any concerns. The office staff made calls at the end of each day to maintain communication and address any concerns. I have to say that I was impressed many times over with Bear Mountain Custom Painting. I highly recommend them.

Update: after 6 mths trying to get them to stand behind work. we have had several painters come price to fix all the damage. They all said it was a bad paint job. I was told that they didnt use right paint and that they didnt seal all over just in spots. siding on backwards and rot everywhere. also they said it barely had one cot bc all over house you can see the original color. I have tried every way to get them to stand behind the work bc now a yr later I am paying another 7000 to fix it all. I was called malicious by Rob the owner bc I want them to stand behind work. I dont care if your nice or mean. He will not stand behind his work or warranty. Come to find out the warranty can be voided on whatever he wants to use. I would stay far away from this company. I was referred to them by family. I was excited to get my house done. We told the it was a foreclosure when we got it and would need alot of work. Paid for 2 coats on base and trim. Right away the crew they sent didnt seem like they knew what was going on. First day, 3 people and after that 1 person. They were missing spots and after supposedly two coats, you could see the original color on the side thru the new color. Contacted the company, they said no we have done 2 coats but after I showed them where you could see the original color that were like fine we will so 3. I was home the whole time and knew only 1 coat was done the first time. They tried to say they painted windows twice but wood was showing thru plus was home and know it was only once. They finally agreed to do again. But I refused the first crew coming and asked for another. I constantly asked for the wood around the chimney to be replaced even offered to go buy them. They said they were not rotted just rough and didnt need to be replaced. over and over again. Not even a full yr after, I have a leak due to chimney trim boards not be chalked right and bad. But of course I sent a email asking for them to stand by there work and pay for repair and they now but the blame on me which happened alot. I was 7 mths pregnant dealing with that headache. Now I will have to pay 1000s to fix what they should have. Please be aware and if you do hire them be there to supervise

Sales presentation was great and no pressure. The painting crew did exactly as promised and exceeded expectations. communications before, during, and after the job was outstanding. crew on time each day and always communicated what they accomplished and what they were going to do. when finished the invoice was the same as the quote. no surprises.

Salesman made an excellent presentation. He detailed the whole process with step by step instructions on each phase of the approach Bear Mountain Painting would follow to stain our deck. Based on his presentation and research of reviews I selected Bear Mountain Painting. Not one item discussed in the sales presentation and outlined in the sales contract was delivered as they said it would be. The actual work that was provided was excellent. The stain looks good and I am pleased with the end product. Little or no communication after contract was signed. Attempted to change start date 3 times Missed commitment to provide a color sample prior to start. Communication with workers difficult and or not possible. No post project follow-up

I had a great experience with the Bear Mountain Painters company! The sales representative provided workable solutions to correct wood decay where the deck meets the house siding.
