My wife and I hired Bella Dreamscapes back in May to do a job. We wanted to extend our patio in stone and add a fire pit. After searching online for a company, we went to Home Advisor.com to search for a contractor. HomeAdvisor.com referred Bella Dreamscape who reached out to me after filling out the questionnaire on the site. After being contacted, we scheduled an initial interview where Chris did not fulfill. Apparently, he was at home dealing with his '8-month pregnant girlfriend.' At that point, I was ready to move on to another option. He called a few days later to re-schedule, going against my gut, I decided to re-schedule with him. He made the appointment and went over the project as well as cost. He made his sales pitch and we agreed to move forward with the work. We handed over a down payment which included multiple money orders totaling over $1700.00. Within a few days Chris, the 'owner' of Bella Dreamscape, texted me asking me whether or not I gave him the down payment for the project. I was absolutely taken aback. I explained to him that I gave it to him the day we agreed on the project. He went on to explain that someone stole the money orders, as well as some other cash that he had in his truck. He needed my assistance in putting a stop payment to the money orders, which I obliged. Two weeks pass and we have not heard from him in regards to the scheduling of the appointment to begin the project. He sends out an "architect," David, who I found out later is not an architect, to do the layout of the project. In any event, that part of the project is done. After the layout has officially been done, two weeks pass by again with no word. I am beginning to get worried and frustrated as I have paid Bella Dreamscapes and yet, I have not yet received any word on my project. I reach out to Chris again who comes up with some excuse. He soon has the project scheduled and within a week, the project commenced. This project should have taken 3 or 4 days at most to complete - here we are more than a month later and it is STILL going on! In the days leading into the project, it rained, to which I understand, however, there were days when David and his crew took the day off on their own and nothing was ever communicated to me. I reached out to Chris who apparently had no idea what was going on with his employee's - so much so that he wanted me to capture and submit surveillance recordings from my home security system to him. He even wanted me to give him temporary access to my system after I declined to provide 10 days worth of video recording to him! Aside from that, it appears that Bella Dreamscapes does not do any background checks on their employee's as the majority of those employee's who came into my yard were random people picked off the street, according to David. After David was removed from the project, he came to my house to collect his material. He explained that Chris is a liar driven by money, hop
