Stephen Callahan responded to my home to provide an estimate on paving my driveway. I found him professional and respectful. He measured the area to be paved and offered a very reasonable and fair estimate. I approved the work and he and his crew were able to begin that day. I watched the project and witnessed his efficient crew as they the laid out my new beautiful driveway. I was so impressed that I asked Stephen to quote another 3200 sq ft and again he provided another reasonable quote. I highly recommend Beneficial Paving.

He was very rude, I feel that the work was not properly done. He poured that hot asphalt over cement without removing any of the weeds out of the concrete. He sold the remaining asphalt to my neighbor to make a curb. ( The neighbor asked for an estimate and when he was told $500 he said no thanks. The neighbor went on to work and the guy put the curb down any way. The neighbors wife called him at work to see if he changed his mind and ordered the guy to put in the curb and he said no. He was then charged $300 for the job. My neighbor was pissed but paid him anyway. Steve went to cash the check before I could get out of the driveway. Called me from the bank several times and then started texting me.(I did not know the number so I did not answer right away). He said that the bank needed to verify that I did write the check. I asked why he did not break up the concrete, haul it away, put a grid down and fill with rocks he said there was not need to do all of that. That was what he originally told my sister (who hired him) that he would do. My neighbors were going to hire him for some work but after they saw the work he done they said that they would go with another company. My father is a 93 year old Veteran and this is who wanted the work done. I feel that this guy took advantage of my father and should redo all the work over and correctly.

He did not waste any time getting to the bank. I wrote it out on the wrong account. Before I could leave he was back at the house. I realized the mistake and verified the amount in the account. Wrote out another check and by the time I got to work he was blowing up my phone because the bank wanted to verify that I did write him out that check plus he texted me in between calls. Neighbor said that he did not pull any weeds he just poured the tar over it. The neighbor wanted to know how much for a speed bump to go across his driveway and he wanted $500 for some leftover tar he was going to throw away. Mr. Bill said that he went back to work and his wife called and said that the guy was out the pouring the speed bump anyway. He was not happy because he told him that was too much for the little bit that he had to do. r. Billy said he gave him 200. I told him I wouldn't have gave him nothing. He has said never mind because it was too much and he went and done it anyway. Mr. Billy said that they are supposed to hose it down with water from off their truck to cool it down and make it hard but he used our water to do it. Mr. Billy was mad, Looking at the work that was done I wondered if it is done correctly. The way it looks from the end of the driveway it doesn't look right. My daddy started asking questions of why did the man come back and what did he want. I told him I wrote it out on the wrong account. So of course he wanted to know what account did I write it out on and for how much. What an hour!! I just wasn't completely satisfied with the job and hope and pray that the weeds don't come through the paving within the year.
