Lack of follow up. Gas leak, the fireplace is scratch and took 2 days to install an ineffective fireplace.

On Oct. 30th Travis came out to look at my chimney. Without even getting on the roof he said it would be $3450.00. I gave him a check for $1725.00 and the next Day I called and left a message do not do anything until they heard back from me I was getting another estimate. On Monday November 2nd Miranda called me and said she got my message. The same day Ron cashed the check. I called back on Thursday November 5th to say I was going with the other company who at least got up and looked at the problem. I requested my deposit back and tried to get it again on November 9th which Miranda said Travis would drop it off on the way home. On November 10th After a discussion with Travis then Ron he said I was not getting my money back. After checking their web site they use the BBB logo which after speaking with the BBB this morning I was told they are not members and have had four complaints against them and currently they have a F Rating with the BBB. BUYER BEWARE TO MANY RED FLAGS ABOUT THIS COMPANY.

"The regular price is $219.95, not $167.00. We took the $50.00 off when we schedule the job with or without the coupon being present, which makes the price for a sweep and an inspection $169.95."

They gave us a coupon... Do not give it to him until AFTER you have gotten a quote (on the phone)! They said $167 but they charged us $169 and yet, the coupon was for $50.

Brick or Stone Tuck pointing
Good- Military Discount/Fair Price/Courteous Workers Bad- VERY STRESSFUL - Not a smooth operation; Inaccurate code interpretations; finally agreed to do the job **next week** then did not show up. I called them 23 times before the job was completed 6 weeks later. New brick does not even come close to matching. I know all bricks are different but I have black red textured brick, and they installed orange smooth brick! I wrote the second half of payment check out to the company exactly as the first but then got 4 calls asking me to write it out to a person vice a business. I do not know if it is tax evasion or are they being sued? But I want no part in it. Read their search engine reviews as they reflect my experience. The city was forcing this repair on me short notice, so I did not have much choice. I do not know if the work was good or not. Although they offer a 10 yr warranty on the sealant, frankly I am not confident that this company will be around in 10 yrs. I hate to talk poorly about a business as I respect my fellow hardworking tradesmen; however, this companys response rate and lack of Communication had me ready to file a police report. I recommend you have a firm and detailed contract and HOLD YOUR DEPOSIT until they actually show up. Good Luck!

"My name is Ron Lane, I am the owner of Best Chimney Care. I have been in business since 1988, and I plan on being in business for another 10 years plus. We are a family owned and operated business and it is set up to continue after I retire or at my passing. We finished the job before his deadline with the city. I received my first phone call from the customer a few days later saying he did not like the four replacement brick, the issue was taken care of the following day. As for the reason for the call of rewriting the check, (no it was not tax evasion), on Thanksgiving Day I had 13 unauthorized charges on my business account, I was notified by PNC Bank Fraud Department, and had another 26 unauthorized charges four days later. It took almost 3 months to clear up."

Do NOT hire this company They came out to clean my gas fireplace; It ended up worse than before. I called them and they said they'd come back out. They did 1/2 the job then said they would be back next day. No response. Called and spoke to Jennifer who said she would make sure someone came back out. My fireplace is not not functional at all and all of my calls, voice messages and texts are completely ignored. I am filing a small claims suit. Absolutely incredible how people think they can operate like this in 2019

"I came back personally, he said his fireplace was not cleaned properly. I had two guys at his home within 45 minutes. When they arrived, his wife had the fireplace burning at that time. We came back two days later (Jeff said he would be home to meet us), but when the guys arrived, no one answer the door or the phone when we called. We left a business card. I feel we went above and beyond to satisfy this customer, but I feel he made it impossible to do so."
