"Maria, This review is factually wrong! You made an appointment for a chandelier that did not work, Our rates for service were explained to you in detail and you agreed. When Mike showed up to your house he cleaned the contacts on your chandelier lift and showed you how to use it correctly. It was my understanding that you did not know that the key for the chandelier lift had to be turned all the way to make contact. So technically you did not know how to operate the lift. You were very happy with us at the time, you signed the invoice and did not make a complaint until you received a lower price for additional work for your swimming pool. Our price had inspection fee's and every cost included. It seems you are angry because you got a lower price from a nonunion shop to do additional work. Please read mike's statement below: . I introduced myself and asked what seems to be the problem? At that point she told me she wanted me to take a look at the chandelier first, then the garage switch and added that she did not mention to the office that she also wanted an outlet for a pump for a recently installed above ground pool. She shows me the chandelier does not turn on and she told me she recently dropped the motor down to clean it and after that it stopped working. I dropped the chandelier back down and checked the contacts on the motor plate. Everything looked clean and good so I raised the chandelier all the way back up and made sure the two contact points met. I go and turn on the switch and the chandelier is working again. Basically, she never raised it all the way therefore it did not turn on. The customer was slightly embarrassed about the situation and I told her it is no big deal and that it is common for first-time users and we laughed it off. Now she shows me the light switch that does not work in the garage and her husband comes in and explains to me that the light worked years ago when his parents still lived in this house before him. He told me that they did not use the garage much but he remembers it working at one point while he was still living under their roof. His plan was for us to tap into that garage circuit to feed the pool pump because the pool company told him only a basic receptacle was needed. I informed them the pool company is incorrect and that there is more entailed than a basic receptacle. I told them that a direct circuit in conduit from the panel straight to the pump is needed, including bonding four points of the above ground pool and skimmer. I told them I will assess that quote as soon as I finish the original call. They have a 12/2 UF coming through the garage foundation unstrapped going into a beat-up jem box that looked like it was inside a wall at some point. Based on that, it looks like the garage was once remodeled. I tested the switch for power and there was none so I go down to the panel to look for any tripped circuit breakers, no success. My next step was to cut the wire out of the box, strip it, and hook up my toner to see if I can trace it back to the panel. Again no success. So at this point, I let the customer know what is going on and I asked if there were any recent work done in the backyard. They told me the pool installation was done the other day and the deck/patio was also done within recent years. I told the customer what most likely happened was the UF cable must have been broken and buried underground while the people were working on the deck/patio All of this work was done within the first hour. I wrote up the PO and only charged the customer for that one hour at the agreed price plus tax. The customer paid in cash and I gave her a copy of the receipt. After completing the original task, I go on to give her a free estimate for the pool pump job. I go ahead and take measurements, jotted everything thing down, and came up with a price."
