They took our money never started the project and then filed bankruptcy.

I felt there was an issue with the back of the driveway, low spots and the final roll. To be fair, most of the driveway looks fine. I called four times. The first call was returned, but once they found out what I wanted, the calls were never returned. I felt at least they should have had enough respect to return my calls and come out and look at the driveway. If they thought it was done properly, then I would have been OK with that. But to completely ignore our concerns was disrespectful and bad business ethics.

From start to finish, everyone at Big Bear was very professional, punctual, informative, and high-quality. Everything was put in writing, so there were no surprises. Stephanie in the office was fantastic at keeping us informed of all the steps of the process, and everyone on the work crew carried out their jobs to perfection. They left no mess behind and the driveway looks fantastic!

Let me start by saying Keith and his crew did a fantastic job paving our driveway. The job exceeded my expectations. They did such a great job, went the extra mile, were very reasonably priced and Keith and Stephanie were honest and great to work with. I highly recommend them to anyone. My wife and I are so happy we hired Big Bear Construction to complete our driveway.

An old terra-cotta sewer line that ran under my asphalt driveway needed to be completely replaced last winter. My sewer line was fixed, but the repair left half of my driveway in total shambles. After reading reviews on this site this past January, I called Big Bear, along with other asphalt companies, looking for estimates. Big Bear was the only realistic bid i received, so I went with them. I am glad I did so. The project was finished last Friday, and looks really good. I will say after going thru this project that the most important part of the process is what is actually under the finished product. In that respect, Keith was really helpful in explaining how important setting the grade is in an asphalt project. If your driveway doesn't push water away from your house, it really doesn't matter how nice the finished product looks, as it will crack, and eventually fail. As luck would have it, The day after my driveway was finished, it rained constantly for almost 24 hours straight. Dummy me actually stood in the rain and watched as the water ran down my driveway and out into the street. I know. This sounds crazy, but it is of great peace of mind knowing there wont be puddles of water laying around, which would undoubtedly cause issues down the road. If you are in need of a driveway repair of any kind, call Big Bear. They are more than reasonable in price, and certainly know what they are doing. It is really hard to find good and honest people these days. Thank goodness for Big Bear.

We had our sizable driveway completely excavated and replaced with a new one, and had a very good experience with Big Bear. Keith was very knowledgeable and walked us through the whole process. We had read several articles on the Do's and Don'ts of asphalt driveway installation, and his initial suggestions covered all the issues, including drainage and proper grading. We removed an ill-working catch basin and properly regraded the driveway to drain away from the house. Keith and his crew were professional and courteous. The whole project flowed without incidents and was completed for the price agreed. Some plants were inadvertently damaged by the heat from the asphalt paver, but Keith took responsibility for the damage and gave us a discount on the project to offset landscaping costs. We would definitely hire him again.

From beginning to end this is a 5 star company. I contacted Big Bear to get an estimate on my asphalt driveway repair job, and Stephanie called me back the same day and arranged for Mark to come out that evening. Stephanie was professional, friendly, and helpful. Mark showed up on time, and was also exceptionally professional, helpful, and friendly. He really wowed me with his honesty when he gave me a few tips and told me to keep them in mind no matter who I ended up hiring for the job. I tried to get 4 prices. One company never returned my phone call, one showed up but not on the day they said they would, and the other showed up I guess at some point without calling because I got an email with a (very high) estimate out of the blue 2 weeks after my call. Big Bear had the best price and customer service. There were a few schedule changes to my job but Stephanie was always in touch. Finally, the most important part, Keith and his crew did a BEAUTIFUL job on my asphalt driveway. It looks fantastic. I highly recommend Big Bear Construction for ANY job and plan to use them in the future to keep my driveway in tip-top shape.

This is the second time I have hired Big Bear for a paving project. They always do an excellent job. I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them. Keith is professional, friendly and very knowledgeable. He answered all my questions so I knew what to expect before they arrived to do the work.

Highly responsive and professional throughout the project, from initial contact to completion of he work. They provided a detailed written estimate, started and completed the work on schedule and for the agreed price. Stephanie always returned calls, answered questions, and explained their business processes. Keith was knowledgeable about the work and fully described how it would be accomplished and how long it would take. Keith and the crew arrived on time each day and worked late to meet the schedule. Clean-up was thorough. I would use them again and recommend them to others.
