I just want to put in a good word, along with an excellent review for Billharz Plumbing at 45-25 47th Street in Woodsideâ ¦ They have been around since 1927, even longer than the Sullivan family had been in Woodsideâ ¦ The interaction between the 2 families occurred when my family was in desperate need of immediate Plumbing helpâ ¦ The Sullivans have been on 48th Street and 50th Avenue since around 1930â ¦ But some medical issues with my sister Maureen has forced us to sell the houseâ ¦ We had a Closing scheduled for Friday, January 19th, but a few days earlier we found out we had no hot waterâ ¦ It is difficult to Close on a house in the middle of January without Hot Waterâ ¦ But Henri Billharz came to the rescueâ ¦ I advised him of my dire situation, and within 30 minutes, Henri himself was at the houseâ ¦ About an hour later, the problem was resolvedâ ¦ And then 3 days later, as the Buyer did his Walk-Thru, we realized the Heat was not workingâ ¦ Once again, Henri Billharz to the rescue, and we were able to Close as plannedâ ¦ As Henri worked on the boiler down in the basement, we began some small talk about growing up in the neighborhoodâ ¦ I am always interested in a personâ s Family Roots, so after an interesting discussion, we realized that Henriâ s grandfather (The Founder of Billharz Plumbing in 1927) probably knew my grandfather, Jeremiah Sullivan, who bought the house in 1930â ¦ 2 original Woodsiders, from close to 100 years ago, looking down as one of the grandsons (King Henri), came to the rescue of another grandson (Yours Truly)â ¦ A nice little tale of Woodside history, with an excellent example of Service to The Customerâ ¦ Our sincere thanks to Henri and his wife Nicoleâ ¦ You saved us, and that is what Customer Service should be all aboutâ ¦ God Bless you allâ ¦ Long Live Billharz Plumbingâ ¦ Sincerely, John L. Very bad experience. This company will show up for a job and claim that they don't have the right part and then demand payment for essentially nothing. In my situation, the part was a very common one whose description I had provided them prior to their arrival. Basically they drove here, told me they didn't have the part and then asked for $150 for doing zero work whatsoever. They weren't ready to work but still charged me for work, leaving me to seriously doubt the ethics of this business and their service to future customers. Go somewhere else that doesn't send out 'empty' trucks.

The plumber came with a faucet which had a spray attachment that was white -- i would have prefrrd that it match the stainless steel faucet; no one gave me the option. The price was more than $100 over what was quoted for one hour on the phone (nothing ever gets done in an hour). On the plus side, the installation could have been tricky because my kitchen contractor made the sink cutout too close to the back wall. I e-mailed photos to bill harz and they looked at them and brought a faucet with a narrow base. The plumber was competent and I'm happy with the faucet.

I think this company did a wonderful job at a very reasonable cost. I would definitely use them in the future.
