I hired Black Canyon Surface Restoration to refinish a bathtub/shower enclosure, a second bathtub, and a shower pan. Mike and Kent were almost two hours later arriving than what Mike had told me. I bought new hardware for the tubs, such as drains, overflow, and tub spouts, I assumed they would all be removed for the finish to go under the hardware. WRONG! Mike also wanted an additional $50.00 to replace the drains. I had to supply the tool to remove the drains since Mike did not have the tool on the job. They replaced the drains and overflow covers, and then masked them off before spraying. I did not expect that I would have to remove all the masking tape and masking paper the next day. I asked Mike why they masked the drains instead of removing them and he told me there was a chance the pipe underneath might drop down if the drain was left out. The real reason is they did not want to come back after the finish dried to replace the hardware and remove the masking tape/paper. I am sure it took longer to mask off the overflow cover than deal with one screw that holds it in place. That is like painting around switch and outlet covers on a wall. Mike had no intention of returning after they sprayed the tubs and shower pan. After I removed the masking tape/paper, I discovered that Mike left a gap between the shower enclosure and wall of about 1/4 and he sprayed the wall. He told me I can cut in with a paint brush; to cover where he over sprayed on the wall. I also noticed runs in the finish of the shower enclosure. There was also light over spray on the bathroom wall where it was not covered with masking tape and paper out far enough from the tub/enclosure. I will now have to paint the entire wall to correct this. I let Mike know about the runs, and defects in the bathtub and he and Kent came back a couple days later. I pointed out the runs and over spray on the hardware and left Mike to do the work. When he was done he left after I gave a quick look at the job. The next day, I noticed there were still runs in the finish, and the tub hardware still had over spray on it where the tape did not cover. I texted Mike, and he told me since I had approved the job, there would be a $45.00 charge for him to come back. I complained and told him I did not recall approving anything, and I considered this as a defect in workmanship, which he claims to offer a five year warranty. He agreed to come back with no charge when he had another job in my area. He came back about a week later and worked on it some more. He did not come prepared to remove the over spray on the tub water handle and tried to scrape it off with a metal strap. It did not work very well, so I supplied the tools to remove the handle and scrape the chrome finish with a single edge razor blade. I will take it apart myself and finish getting the over spray off. I am still noticing over spray all over the bathroom that I am having to remove. Mike complains that I am too picky. I would not recommend Black Canyon Surface Restoration. Yes, he is cheaper than other companies, but you know the old saying. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

David did a great job.... my old tub looks brand new. Other than a slight miscommunication regarding arrival time, everything was great. I'm having them come back to resurface my shower pan and bathroom countertop.
