As a property manager, we contacted a local company to look at a furnace over a minor leak. I received a phone call from somebody who is wishy-washy, unprofessional, and caused me to treat the call with extra caution. After realizing he had no intention to look at the problem that was called about, I was explained that the heat exchanger was starting to have issues, causing carbon monoxide. When I asked, why doesnâ t the detectors catch it and he said Sometimes it doesnâ t and sometimes itâ s not bad enough yet. So I asked him is there a problem or something that you believe is coming and I could not get a straight answer. He threatened to shut the heating system off Safety concerns. To shut the heat off on my tenant on a cold day. My big issue is how they went about this, instead of shutting the gas off or possibly the breaker, I learned later in the day that they cut wiring inside of furnace. Which I promptly had repaired. And I had the heating system taken apart to confirm or deny whether the heat exchanger Had a crack in it or not. Come to find out everything is fine, all done, by a licensed HVAC person. After discussing this with other people, I have found that this company is prone to pressureTactics, threats and scams. Stay away from Blue Bear of Pembroke!! Shutting off a system in such cases is always a last-resort decision made to protect everyone involved, including tenants.
