"The lawn was dying in the front when we started working for them. We made a suggestion of what might work to save the lawn. We told them up front that there would be a 50/50 chance it could work. We made that very clear. We did not buy the sod, plant the sod, water the lawn and were up front with them that there was a 50% chance it could work. The customer purchased the material, and since they were out of town we offered to lay it for them. Would we still be responsible if he laid it himself and followed our suggestion? We should not have to pay for the lawn when there is no guarantee and they agreed. We did help the rest of the lawn which is bright green and beautiful, however the client does not want to tell you that. We offered to buy one pallet of sod for them, as we are not responsible for what happened to their lawn. We offered $200 to put with the $200 customer owed us to purchase a pallet of sod installed. The customer received two quotes one to re sod the front lawn one for $1400 and one for $2400, so the cost being reported is incorrect. Most lawn companies can resod for $400 to $450 a pallet so a price of $2400 is exorbitant. We were honest that it may not work and tried to help since they were out of town.. If we knew that we would be responsible to pay for the lawn if it did not work out, we would have never helped. In regards to blaming the builder there was a 30 day return on the sod from the builder and their lawn was almost dead. When initially questioned we did not know what happened to their sod and made a suggestion that maybe it was the sod the builder put in. In addition, their irrigation system was not working, as that is also something else we got working for them. It would be nice if people would document the whole truth and not just want they want to present and take responsibility for decisions they make. This customer has currently threatened to ruin our company or if we do not pay for them $2400. They are not willing to work to come to a mutually agreeable solution. We feel like we are being extorted."
"As we did not do any work for this customer, this should have not been put on this page. We were late to the first meeting due to a traffic accident. I personally contacted him to inform him of this matter and he was agreeable and said he understood. We could not make it back in 7 days as it was raining every day. In regards to the above situation, this gentleman leaving the review was not present. After being pressured by the owner to cut the lawn we attempted to cut the lawn, however, the lawn was a swamp and should not have been cut. Since the lawn was so long, we attempted to cut what we thought would be the driest part of the lawn. Once we started to mow, our machine got stuck in the mud. We told him it should not be cut. His wife was home during this situation, and once we were stuck we asked to borrow some wood to get out. The wife said she would have to call her husband. We waited and received no answer from the wife and that her husband was out racing cars. Luckily, we were able to get help from the neighbor who was able to get us out. We did not cuss when we spoke to the neighbor. Due to the yard's condition, we explained we would not be able to move forward and continue to cut the lawn. We go to this area one time a week and if it rained we would not be able to cut his lawn, leaving him to pay a monthly rate, when he may not receive service weekly which would be unfair to him. In addition, he has neither emailed or texted me many times to address his concerns. He is putting his concerns on here instead of addressing them with the business directly. If his concern was brought to us we would have tried to fix the situation. He had an agreement and it says we can stop service at any time, so we have decided to not begin service as we would not be able to honor our end of the deal."
