My furnace, installed in 2005, was not generating any heat. An LED flashing on my Coleman unit indicated an error with the pressure switch. I called a well-known company with highly visible advertising; however, I wasn't "freakin'" since it wasn't an emergency. The diagnostic cost 2-3x more than what some of the lesser-known local companies were charging for the same service. The recommendation I received was to replace the inducer motor, as it was failing to activate the pressure switch. I chose not to proceed with this company, after being given quotes on repair and replacement of the unit, opting instead for a second opinion. I was given a list of York specialists from a second service provider after being informed that they primarily worked on Carrier units. Two providers were available, locally, I called the first one, and left a message when no one answered. I then called Blue Sky, but this time I did not leave a message, beginning to get frustrated by not being able to speak to anyone. Susan, from Blue Sky, called back within 15 minutes. A service request was tentatively scheduled for the next afternoon, as the team was busy working on another job in Seattle. On the next day, I received a call from Mark, to confirm my availability, and was given an ETA of about 30 min. Mark and Sam arrived a short time later, and were very personable. The were able to identify the issue with the inducer motor not activating the pressure switch, and remedy the problem within minutes, and got the unit heating my home without having to replace any parts. They also took the time to go over upgrade options, and explained the process they would use to install a new unit, at my request. By the time they left, the temperature inside the house was already to where I had the thermostat set to. I am very pleased with the service I received, and highly recommend Blue Sky to anyone reading this. I plan on using Blue Sky for scheduled annual maintenance, and also when it comes time to repair, or eventually upgrade.
