Bluegrass Construction & Decks

Some of the materials that were delivered were wrong and when I called to let them know they brought the right ones immediately and started working. The crew was great and I would hire them again.

Contracted Bluegrass Construction to replace my two decks and add a fence around the larger deck. Thank God I called the best contractors around!! From start to finish this company is well organized and operating at a highly professional level. Matt and Tyler are so hardworking. They started from early morning â until late afternoon, Non Stop. Their attention to detail is amazing. Everything is carefully thought out and executed with precision! Even the design that ran along the top of my fence turned out better than I had envisioned. Matt and Tyler went above and beyond in building two of the most gorgeous decks, I am so happy!! Their craftsmanship is the best! Bluegrass Construction team made this entire renovation go smoothly. They are an excellent company that strives to satisfy and are trustworthy, courteous and hardworking. I will most definitely be calling Bluegrass Construction for any future projects.

WOW, WOW, WOW!, 15 stars for 3 different sections but I will elaborate. When you are looking for a home improvement (at least for me) you are considering 3 main components; price, quality and customer service, usually you sacrifice a little of one for the other but Iâ  m not overselling when I tell you Bluegrass gets 5 stars for each. Price: 5 stars We got a few bids for our deck project. We needed demo and disposal of an existing structure and a new build of an expanded Trex deck. We needed full framing for a 2nd story structure and we didnâ  t want to do permitting ourselves so that was also on our list. Our bids were comparable, but Bluegrass was still marginally lower all things considered. Quality: 5 stars with a bullet Iâ  m not sure the pictures will do it justice, but this frame is a beast. Full 5.5â  x5.5â  pressure treated posts poured into concrete, 2x7 trusses, they did not skimp. They did the framing just after our large snow storm of 2019 so the ground was presenting some unique challenges. We didnâ  t have the best drainage and cold temps were not ideal for concrete to cure, but Dan and team trenched a drain path for the water and used heat guns to make sure the concrete was solid before proceeding, Iâ  ve included this detail because i donâ  t think other builders would have went to this length to solve the problem and would have waited for mother nature to cooperate. We love the Trex material and that will be standard no matter who you select, but where Bluegrass and team differentiate themselves is there experience and training with the product I donâ  t remember the specific title but lets just say they have a black belt from the Trex company. They will make sure every board is installed to Trex specification as to not void your warranty which is important. Our railing is the standard powder coated variety but we wanted a privacy screen built into a section for our barbecue. They did a beautiful trellis for us with cedar and added some lattice to complete the look. I can go on and on about the structure but this is already a long review, just know its spectacular. Customer Service: 5 stars or whatever is better than that From the initial visit to the final walkthrough Dan was phenomenal. My wife and I had a concept of what we wanted but needed some design help. Dan provided professional guidance and helped us avoid some pitfalls we otherwise would have regretted. The best compliment i could give is that whenever there was an issue or decision needed he gave us a couple options and his professional opinion as someone who has seen it before. To contrast, when our home was being built our home builder would put the onus on us to make a decision and wouldnâ  t give an opinion we MUCH prefer Danâ  s style. At our initial visit, with snow still on the ground Dan took the time to show us visually outside what our concept would look like so we knew what size deck was going to meet our needs. Once we selected Bluegrass, Dan kept helping throughout and was flexible with changes when we had new ideas. He took the time to go to E&E lumber so we could see in person the different products and how they look in natural light. Lastly and most important INCREDIBLY RESPONSIVE AND INFORMATIVE. We were never in the dark on what was happening with our project day by day, every question answered almost immediately and always there when they said they would be. Dan was very intuitive of when to contact us with how something would look before proceeding which we loved, also every person on his team was courteous, not that i think thatâ  s a requirement but it was an added bonus, finally their restoration of our yard was above and beyond. They left the project site in better condition than when they started. in summary BEST CONSTRUCTION EXPERIENCE EVER.

I hired Bluegrass Construction to replace our existing fence. They were very professional and prompt. The bid was very competitive and they performed the contracted work on schedule. I will hire Bluegrass Construction on future projects. The fence looks great.

The deck is very sturdy and well built. Bluegrass was responsive to a design change to make the deck more useable for the location. Because of my lack of understanding I neglected to ask for skirting and a gutter that was added on after the initial bid. Bluegrass communicated well about the changes and accomplished the added work in a timely manner. We have already hired Bluegrass to build a fence and do some home repairs.

Dan and Aaron did a fantastic job rebuilding a front and back porch, and re-roofing our 75-year-old cabin. We got several quotes and it was clear immediately during the quoting process that Dan understood what we were looking for and how important is was for us to retain some of the old ambiance our family has known for 50 years, while providing a lasting structure for the future. During construction he ran into several challenges trying to tie the new construction into the old structure, He kept us informed any time we had to deviate from the original plan due to age of the cabin. He offered alternatives that still met our goals AND within our original budget which was a nice surprise. Finally, even though he was only working on a portion of the cabin while we were also doing projects inside and outside, he was very proactive about offering suggestions and helpful tips. We would definitely hire Bluegrass Construction again.

These guys are great! Dan, Anthony and Aaron did a fantastic job with the quote/billing side as well as the building and construction. Our new fence looks great! We are so happy that we chose Bluegrass Construction and we will call them again for our next project. They are professional, knowledgeable and trustworthy and did a great job putting our fence up. They came yesterday and gave me a bid. We made the decision to hire them and they arrived at the exact time we arranged. The jobs were handled quickly and professionally. The customer service was outstanding. I highly recommend Bluegrass Construction.
