Wood Flooring - Install or Completely Replace
Had extreme flood damage to my one bedroom condo. all walls painted including cabinets , rugs removed and replaced with hard wood floors, tile in kitchen and bathroom floors along with entry and all closets. Bob promised to complete everything in 7 days. Did it in nine days. He took the extra days to demonstrate his interior decorating skills. in addition to the necessary repairs he replaced my mattress, kitchen and bathroom lights, refinish my tub and surround, replaced counter top and sink, managed to find and buy two wall air conditioners in the middle of winter and made custom cabinets for a finished look. When I hired Bob I thought he would be doing the work. He never said he would be subcontracting the job out to do my front steps. The subcontractor got cement all over my red bricks, fence, barrels, mail box and plants. They used my recycle bin as a bucket. They placed cement on the inside stone wall which then left two different color cements. The floor is uneven. I have spent the last three days trying to get the cement off the redbrick and the new step stones with acid to no avail. Bob showed up in the beginning of the project and the end and was yelling at the crew b/c they misunderstood. The stone wall is a mess. This was not worth $4500.00. I now have to hire another contractor to fix the floor so it is at least level.

"First of all to my loyal customers. I was at job five times. There was a mix up with my guys. They were supposed to just fill cracks in cobble stones not cement entire inside of walls to match back of stairs. For that would of been an extra 900 dollars customer said looks great. I said no charge of course. Then husband calls me up when I had company and told me job looks great. Thank you so much. Give me a check and says he will give me a great review. Just clean a little cement on walkway. I said keep my guy there as long as you need. With power washing cement. Next thing I know I'm reading this review. I told customer I would come out and make them happy. I said you need to take down what they said about my company that's it slander. The law states you need to give contractor a chance to fix something if you not happy not slander a company with the complete opposite of what said. P.s. I did not subcontract anything. It was my crew. I am suing this customer for slander. Not right take great pride in my work. I said I would come to there house and make them happy. But they need to take down review and write new one if they choose to. Some people are just interesting people. Customer refuse to take down review their choice, $10,000 a day I will be looking for Thanks bob from Boston bobs."

I hired Bob to install 2 new vanities and re-grout my 2 bathroom floors. He was very accommodating with my schedule and even offered to be the contact person when the vanities that were not coming with inside delivery arrived, saving me from having to take time o from work and finding two strong people to get them into my house. (He was working in my area and just offered to solve that problem for me without missing a beat.) Bob has done excellent work, the vanities and floors look great and he kept the price just under what he quoted me, which was very reasonable considering the work involved. He and his guys cleaned up after themselves and were polite and considerate of my property. Bob knows a lot about many, many things and I will definitely call him when I'm ready to start some other home improvement projects. I highly recommend him!

Wood Flooring Repair or Partial Replacement
We hired this company to reconstruct our stairs a little over a year ago. Although it was a challenging job, the work was substandard and will require substantial redo. The work has gaps in cuts, strange filler marks, unfinished wall portions, loose dowels, uneven and rough poly application and more. During the build the price increased twice, nearly doubling from the initial estimate. It will take a substantial amount of work - and cost - to fix the extremely careless work. Would not reccomend.

We received a prompt reply to our request to install vent baffles in our attic. I sent our info to an incorrect number so it took a day or two to straighten that out. It was not an emergency and the work was completed in less than a day about 6 days later. According to my husband this was a dirty,sweaty and uncomfortable job to do and it was completed in a timely and satisfactory manner.

Interior Painting or Staining: 3 - 4 Rooms
At the start of the project Bob told me that when he was done I would have a "smile on my face". Let me say that when he left I was not smiling. The painting was fair with missed spots on the walls, terrible job on trim and the floor was pretty good. I paid Bob on the last day of the project before his crew left. At that time he told me that if I was not happy with anything then he would return the next day. Well that did not happen. It took awhile for him to return and when he did, he made note of my concerns and left noting that he would return the next day but he didn't. I ended up finishing the job myself as I painted trim and touched up the walls along with other things that needed attention. The job started well but his crew got careless as they went along and on the final day they just wanted to get out...If you hire this company to do work make sure you do not pay until you inspect the job carefully...

Hired Bob to refinish hardwood floors in 3 rooms, take down a ugly wall off the kitchen and have it replaced with a railing and white spindles, also has him paint 3 rooms, and install wall board, Bob did an outstanding job, he is reasonably priced, Bob is a perfectionist in his work, I would highly recommend him, I would definitely call him in the future for other projects I have planned.

Bob's Home Improvement business is a gem! I hired him to refinish my hardwood flooring which is 30 years old. It came out like new. His expertise in so many matters is amazing. He bought insulation for my windows which were drafty and put in LED spotlights throughout my home. There is nothing he can't do. His workers are very polite and nice and they cleanup after each project. His favorite saying is "there are no problems" just solutions. How true that was. Don't hesitate to call him. I am very thankful for meeting and working with Bob and his team. We hired them to refinish our hardwood floors after a previous contractor destroyed them. The floors came out absolutely beautiful, and it was one of the best phone calls I have ever made. My wife and I now have a home we love and could not be happier. Bob cares for his customers, and does whatever it takes for them to be happy. We will 100% hire him in the future.

Boston Bob was friendly and knowledgeable about the repair I needed. My upstairs shower had leaked through to the downstairs bathroom ceiling. He did an extensive renovation. His fellow workers were polite and efficient. Bob explained everything he was doing and I am very pleased with the project outcome. UPDATE: Almost 2 years later...â ¦..my original leak is back! After leaking for this length of time, the floor is again soggy..and leaking into the downstairs bathroom. The new plumber stated that there are so many incorrect fixes that he needs to redo the entire project. Bob was friendly but incompetent.

Hired Bob to do hardwood floors to get cat urine out from previous owners cat. He guaranteed the smell would be gone and recommended replacing wainscoting on walls as well as sanding and refinishing floors. The wainscoting is hung uneven with a cut in it from circular saw, there are area's they used caulking to fix gaps and they globbed it on and left it dirty and a mess. They painted windows shut when they repainted trim. Failed to fully seal all windows properly. One screen is unusable due to being sealed with paint. Bob stated in June that he would order a new screen and come out to replace it and fix areas that are poor workmanship - other than coming back one time to replace one piece of trim, he has yet to resolve all of the issues. I have been in contact multiple times and if I get a response it is with an excuse that the store he ordered from made mistake and he will look into it. It has been 3 months with no results. I advised him that the cat urine smell is not completely gone and he has no response for that. He will give you excuses for this review like he did when we asked him about a bad review we read (shame on us, we should have believed that review) I would not take those excuses. I highly recommend not using this company as the work is poor to say the least.

The main job of painting and staining and fixing my hardwood floors the company did great BUT when I needed Bob to return to correct some items he just blew me off. Do not pay the last payment until everything is done the way you want it . Bob has more excuses for not showing up on time then anyone I have ever dealt with. A shame primary work was very good. He is expensive

"I've learned in life that certain people take advantage I was at this gentleman's and woman's house four times twice they stepped on my finish went back for nothing free two more times for touchups that eagle Eye saw the fifth time I said enough is enough he called me up wanting me to take his curtain rods down that I put right next to where they were because they got new curtains there needs to be a charge and then to add a quarter inch of caulking to all the stairs which I didn't install I would've been back to six times I put curtain rods back up exactly where they where they bought new curtains and wanted me to come back and reinstall plaster pa I put curtain rods back up exactly where they where they bought new curtains and wanted me to come back and reinstall plaster paint for free I said enough is enough"

I asked for an estimate for a single bedroom which I had already removed the wall to wall carpeting. We agreed on a price and also that I would have Bob refinish my other 2 bedrooms along with the connecting hall. After the initial sanding and first coat of finish, he and his crew emptied the 2nd bedroom of furniture and carpeting, and that floor was sanded. However, all of that furniture was placed in my bedroom, so I had limited access to my belongings. Things did not follow very quickly after that followed by Bob taking ill - and no one else came to work at my house. I needed to inquire by text since I was told he would be at my house a certain time - before I left for work - and he never showed. Bob does great work and I am very pleased with the result in 2 of my bedrooms - especially with the repair needed to replace pet-stained flooring... but I will hold off on the third bedroom - as well as a hallway - because I am not certain how long it would take to complete the job. I realize that in this line of work it is necessary to juggle work sites and I'm sure this was part of the reason for the delay.

Hired Boston Bob to refinish a hardwood floor and install hardwood flooring to match in an adjacent room. Bob and his crew worked long hours and weekends to finish the project and went above and beyond to prepare the area for the floor and no extra expense. The floors came out very much to our liking. At the completion of the project Bob and his crew put all furniture back and removed all construction debris.

I contacted Boston Bob's Home Improvement through Home Advisor. Bob telephoned the next day and came over a few days later to review the removal of carpets, sand and finish the Hardwood floors under the carpet and install hardwood flooring in the kitchen. Bob gave an estimate for the job that I considered a fair price and he included references of people who had floors completed by him. After reading the above negative complaint, I contacted his references and they gave Bob a high recommendation. I took a chance, and telephone Bob back and we agreed on a price. Bob has been working on schedule. Furthermore, after ripping up the carpet, we found a botched floor job that was hidden under the rug. Bob said âI can repair it.â He did. Bobâs floor work is impeccable. I will complete this posting when Bob completes the floor job, but, because of the negative complaint above, my opinion, to visitors of Home Advisorâs, give Bob a chance.

I heard that Bob does great work so I hired him to pull up carpets and install flooring. My experience was not positive. A project that was quoted 8 days is now on day 20, with minimum work done. Many excuses, many days where there we no workers onsite. On day 20, I challenged him on the delays and we both agreed to part company. However he did not reimburse me for part of the deposit. In the hands of the Attorney General's office and the court system. What a headache for a small job. Moral of story, if you decided to hire him, get job completed before paying.
