Short answer: Only 1 portion of the project was fully completed. However, this rating is due to poor communication through the length of the project and a highly unprofessional text message demanding final payment at the end. Noah actually UNDER-charged me for the project I requested and did not charge me at all for the portions that were not fully completed - which is appreciated. The project I requested was a fenced in yard with a cement or brick footing along the length of the fence. I also requested a brick walkway along the side of my house. I will say that the quality of the fence that was built was very good! It looks great and I am happy with the final product! However, the brick footing that I asked for never happened. At one point during the work of the project, Noah voiced concerns of my yard not being level and the footing may not work. But he said he would still do his best to make it look good. Well, he completed the fence and the footing was never done. When I asked, he said he spoke with other contractors and decided the footing would not work. I understand the logistics and science of why it would not work due to my yard not being level and it could cause water drainage issues. However, my issue is that this was not communicated to me until he finished the project. He took it upon himself to make the final decision to not finish the footing WITHOUT discussing it or consulting with me. Had I known he was not able to do the footing and WHY he could not do it, I would have asked him to stop the project so that I can work on leveling my yard FIRST. Then we could have finished the fence. This is because a brick or cement footing needs to be laid BEFORE the actual fence is put up. Now I have to work backwards and have my yard leveled, demolish the fence he just built, lay the brick footing I wanted, then build a new fence. All because he refused to communicate his concerns as the project was going on. Secondly, the brick walkway I requested was never finished. It is uneven in many areas and there are large gaps in between the bricks that have not been filled. Prior to that part of the project, he assured me it would be level and the gaps would be filled with polymeric sand. It looks poorly thrown together and not professionally done at all. He did not charge me for this part of the project which is great. However, if it was too much to ask as part of this project, I would have rather him not start it at all. Because now it is just an eyesore in my yard that I have to fix and clean up. Overall, I rated the value for money 5 stars because he did not charge an arm and a leg for the fence. He only charged me for the materials and labor for the fence itself. He did not charged for the lack of brick footing, nor did he charge me for the unfinished sidewalk. So, I appreciate that. For such a small business, I feel as though he bit off more than he could chew with the project I requested. However, he did not admit feeling overwhelmed until the end when he demanded the rest of the payment. When I brought up my concerns of things being unfinished or not communicating with me, he stated I am done with your project and I am tapped out and I want to get paid and move on. As far as I am concerned, the job is complete and therefore payment is due. Do we have an understanding here? Probably would not recommend him for large scale projects as this is still a small company......updated 8/22/22..I left a review when the job was originally done. However, I had to come back and leave a second review now that it is been several months. I was guaranteed that Noah built me a fence that lasts. Well, after 6 months, my gates are falling off and wont fully open anymore, I have warped boards that already need replacing, and some of my gate posts are cracked. Will never use it again and will never recommend it to anyone.
